hi just had a week in campello and used the tram to get there and back from alicante a distance of about 9 miles for the princeley sum of 1.45 euros an absolute bargain, trams are immaculate ,very punctual and ticket machine is easy to use with english language option, just to compare i have just used a local bus in burton on trent which cost over three times more for a lot shorter journey no wonder nobody uses public transport in the uk unless they have to.it cost me and my wife about £8.50 to get to campello from the airport compared to £35 in a taxi and it was a doddle and will definitely do again on next visit

The tram is ok once you get on it although slow. It no longer serves the main Alicante beach and Marina area which means a long walk along the sea front to the Sangueta station which is not well signposted. The station by the main beach is still open which is misleading.

Tickets easy to buy from a machine at some stations but staff are willing to assist the less than confident. Tram to San Juan took about 15/20 minutes. Easy local transport, forget the taxi.

Taking the tram from Alicante to Benidorm brings a touch of rural living to ones day. The system, heavily used by the local populace and tourists alike meanders along the coastal fringes passing through some superb scenery. The only drawback is the distance of the station in Benidorm from the Beach area itself, although there is a local bus service.
