Fab place, loads of fresh food options and places to grab a glass of wine on way round :) Lovely experience and used for our food shop while staying in area.

We liked this market much better than the more famous Boqueria in Barcelona. More variety of items for sale - meat, fish, fruits and veggies, flowers (outside). Clean restrooms. Soda pop vendng machine.

The market is buzzing and so huge. An absolute must if you visit alicante centre. Full of fantastics beasts, such as huge swordfish, salmon, tuna, grouper! Octopus, squid, huge prawns.... A floor dedicated to fish, one to meat another to veg etc. A truly remarkable experience to wander among the stalls and the spanish.

Unlike some touristy markets in other Spanish cities, this one in Alicante is essentially local. Most of the shops have Spanish signs only and remain loyal to local customers. Things are fresh and cheap. Beware of graphic scenes in the meat stalls.

There is a place which should obligatory to see in Spain - if you want to know and experience the local culture. The market is open 7:30 - 14:30. The earlier you go, the better. You will find a huge selection of fresh fish and fruit or vegetables. If you don't want to buy anything, just enter and enjoy the colours of the staff on the stalls :-)
