i Just stayed at this hotel in sept for a week with my wife and baby, the hotel is excellent in every way, the staff were very helpful and spoke english very well. The location is perfectly situated in the heart of alicante city, with the bus stop to the airport right outside, the tram and train are also across the road, taxi stand right outside, what else could u ask for, a 10 min walk to the beach or restaurants, bars and nightlife. You can get to benidorm for 5 euros on a tram which takes about an hour, san juan beach about 20 mins a way on a tram a must see for beach lovers. Alicantes main attraction is on your doorstep which you must see which is santa Barbara castle, built on top of a mountain right in the middle of the city, see for yourself. overall the food, hotel and staff were brilliantly excellent.... HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Room Tip: we stayed in a double room with a baby cot for the infant which was excellent, aircon was great, plenty of room, if you can afford a junior suite i would recommend it. get a room on the highest floor possible facing either directly the front or rear of the hotel for a great view.

We have just returned from our 4 night stay at this hotel and it was great.Firstly the hotel is in a great location right in the centre of town and a nice 5 to 10 minute stroll in the sun to the beach waterfront area. The hotel is nice and modern with excellent staff who all spoke good English. We arrived at the reception desk at noon and were promptly checked in early and given a room on the fourth floor with a massive double bed.The bed linen is of very good quality and just like new also changed daily.
I have to say the room was fantastic, spotless with very good air con that certainly was not noisy and kept the room very cool.We both slept very well at night as our room was on the side street all very quiet but to be honest I think it is not noisy even on the front. The little fridge was good as we went to the little supermarket and got mini bottles of cava and popped them in for each night just a little glass while the wife got ready to go out.
As you leave the hotel turn right walk about 150 yards and you come to a handy little supermarket nice little shop sells everything and freindly staff.Directly opposite the hotel is the station and above that is the central meat market, wish I had one of them at home. There are numerous bars and restaurants very close to the hotel and they did all look nice. One of our favs was Lucia on Casse San Fransisco Tarique was the barman here very freindly indeed and he made us the best Mojitos while we were there..Thanks.
Alicante itself very cool safe and freindly and we had no bother at all while there. In fact it was better than what we thought it was going to be.Very relaxed atmosphere down on the Esplanada area at night while looking around the various and varied stalls selling allsorts of things from jewellery to snacks. Then we would cross the road to the harbour where you will find a small marina bar right on the waters edge cool bar. Then we would make our way along to the Sol Maris bar as it is right next to the beach and you can watch the moon rise very beautiful and it happens so fast. One more thing before you all fall asleep, there is a very cool little oasis slap bang on the beach we called it our little Bedouin beach bar, just walk past the flyover and then past the exercise machines on the beach and you find it nestled in about some palm trees. We went here every day for a few.
So yes we would easily return to Alicante no probs one more thing we did not get one mozzie bite between us and that is very unusual for us. Ola from us.

Room Tip: We had 418 no probs

.We've just returned from a week's stay and thoroughly enjoyed it.
A perfect spot for a sunny September break. .The Lucentum is a leisure and business hotel so don't expect sun loungers, swimming pools and organised trips BUT if a central location, great breakfasts and spacious, spotless, comfortable rooms are important then this is the place to go. The staff are simply charming. It's just 10 minutes from the sea where one can hire sunloungers, umbrellas etc
Alicante's old town streets boast dozens of great little restaurants where one can eat outside. Thank goodness one can just enjoy the atmosphere and not be bombarded with disco music.
Menus are mainly in Spanish ( it is Spain after all !) but often there is an English translation, photographs of foods or one can ask for an English menu. Most waiters speak a little English.
A bus ride to Santa Pola market on a Saturday is worth the trip.

Recommended! Just got back from a 4 night stay. Absolutely no complaints. Very comfortable king-size bed with pillow menu - a huge plus for those with back/shoulder problems. Staff were very welcoming and professional. Close to main shopping centre, and restaurants, cafes and bars by the hundred. Lovely sandy beach 10 minutes away. Pleased to enjoy a real Spanish city - not that many tourists, so the whole trip was a good break from UK life! Yes, a roof top swimming pool would have been nice, but 10 minutes stroll to the beach....who really needs it?

Room Tip: Go for the 5th floor and above - book a king-size bed!

We are a couple in our early 50's and we stayed at this hotel for 10 days, from the 3-13th Sept. I booked it because of all the good reviews but we were really disappointed. It could have been made a lot better with a swimming pool on the top instead of all the dead space. Also some sunloungers on the top would have been excellent because there was loads of space. The hotel is centrally located, but very noisy as is on a main street. The biggest disapointment was Alicante itself. Yes there are plenty of restaurants, but very few had English menus, and the staff didn't speak much English The bars are poor, with no music or entertainment, people were just sitting outside talking every night. Everything you eat or drink is very expensive and there wasn't much choice. I wouldn't recommend going to this place at all if you like a bit of nightlife, or a good quality restaurant. There weren't any trips either, so we had a pretty boring, monotonous holiday and were glad when out holiday was over.

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the back
