Blinding location, get room 206 which is big and overlooking the Town Hall square. Arrived Saturday evening and the harbour just 2 mins away, if that, and the quality of food in the outside areas near was excellent value for money. Saturday nights in Alicante are full of life as they celebrate the neighbourhood, and a bit noisy in the rooms, however the Sunday and Monday nights were very quiet. The C6 bus from the airport is 25 mins away, costing 2.6E and leaves you 90 seconds from the hotel.

Seriously could not have chosen a better hotel for the money, staff are very nice, Alicante is all about location.

We liked this hotel except for one thing: on Saturday our sleep was severely disrupted by noise. Firstly there was a band in the nearby square at around midnight (which wasn't too bad as we weren't asleep) then at some time in the middle of the night I was awoken by singing drunk Spanish women walking down the nearby alley. There were various other people shouting and generally making a racket. Then, the next morning, there was a marathon finishing in the square outside, from 9.00ish. Admittedly the last one was a one-off, but the receptionist mentioned that it is generally noisy outside at weekends.

So - if you're there to drink and make merry, this won't matter. If you're there for a quiet weekend, you might find your night disrupted.

Apologies for sounding like a party pooper!

Very pleased with this hotel - fabulous location, spotlessly clean, nice big room and bathroom. Spent three nights - Saturday, Sunday and Monday -did email ahead to say would be checking in late, but by the time we arrived there were very few options left which was a bit disappointing. We were given a room with a view of a side street rather than one of the ones overlooking the old square and castle. Didn't really mind as don't tend to spend too much time sitting in the room when away for a city break. However, the noise on the Saturday evening was horrendous - obviously a walk through for Saturday night revellers, doubt if had a wink of sleep! Was better on the Sunday and Monday though. Slightly disappointed that other than an adjoing 'cafe/bar', there are no lounge bar facilities at this hotel, would have been nice to have such an area to chill out in. Nor does it have its own restaurant for anything other than breakfast. All in all a nice hotel, would probably give a 3.5 if that were an option rather a 4, but mostly positive observations - just stipulate you want a room overlooking the square at the time of booking!

The rooms were quite small and with lower standard than anticipated. Totally fine though and reasonable considering the price. Super location.

My wife and I have just spent a few days in a little gem of a hotel in the centre of Alicante.

Being our first trip here we were unsure as to the hotel and location but were not let down by either.

I would recommend both the Plaza and Alicante to anyone.....

room 508 facing Plaza with fantastic views. excellent breakfast. nice size hotel for us - 50/60 rooms. very central for beach, harbour, shopping, cafes and restaurants. very reasonable booking with easyjet. small lounge area in entrance hall.
airport bus terminates less than 200m from hotel, every 20mins @ 2.5 euros.
good beach cafes to sit in the hot sun, sea was cold (north sea June temp) but several people swam. did not take summer clothes for feb.
Taberna del Gourmet at the back of the hotel is highly recommended but very busy.

Stayed with family for a 2 day break in Alicante, chose hotel from previous reviews, No there is not tea making facilities and lift only takes 4! But hey, what a location, close to beach, bus stop, tram stop, casino, harbour, resteraunts and bars. And the best thing about this hotel is the view from the roof terrace at night of the castle on top of the mountain....stunning!
Rooms were very clean, bathroom, clean, and staff were very helpfull, all for £50 per night for a double or a twin. Lovely Sunday markets up the mosaic palm tree lined promenade, and quirky little boot sale type stall outside the hotel on a Sunday.
Highly reccomend the resteraunt on the harbour 'Arroceria Marisqueria', great food and wine at a reasonable rate and very friendly staff.
Must do.......bus trip up to the castle on top of the mountain, the views are amazing! If you feel energetic, maybe walk down!
Hotel has a sauna on the top floor, bus ride from airport is easy, 20 minutes and about 3.50 euros
Loved this hotel and Alicante, would go back when its a tad warmer :)
