We only stayed one night here, but we really enjoyed it. It's in a beautiful location- the view out of our window was of the Square and Town Hall. Thankfully the town clock didn't chime all through the night!
The hotel is close to the Marina and all the bars and restaurant of that area. a short walk to any type of food you'd want.
The bed was comfortable, the bathroom clean, the service was very good.
A little TLC is needed (holes in the curtains) but that didn't take anything away from the stay.
Our main problem was with the parking- we were send to park in the location where the hotel has an agreement for cheaper prices, but we missed the turn and ended in the wrong place, where we had to pay quite a large amount for overnight parking. That was our fault, I know, but parking is our only negative for this hotel.

Room Tip: Parking is a problem

We stayed here for 2 nights as a stop over before starting a walking week in the Jalon valley.
We wished to stay in the old quarter of Alicante. We were able to explore the old town on foot and also we walked from the hotel up to the Castillo Santa Barbara with views all across Alicante.
The hotle provided a good continental breakfast with fresh fruit/breads and pastries.
We travelled from the airport by shuttle bus which stopped at the marina which wasa short walk from the hotel.
Our room on the top floor was quiet with views across the square to the Castillo Santa Barbara on the rocky outcrop above.

Room Tip: upper floor with view over square

Just back from a 3 night stay in the Eurostars Mediterrranea Plaza Alicante. Lovely central hotel. Staff were exceptionally helpful and pleasant especially Monica who checked us in. She is so helpful and friedly and really couldn't do enough for us. Monica and the rest of the staff is what makes this hotel so special. We had a huge room, 509 overlooking the square and the castle. We were there on a Saturday night and didn't experience any noise. We had a little balcony, no table or chairs but very nice. There is no bar at this hotel. On the 7th floor there is a gym, sauna and jazzusi which was great and a nice terrace if you wanted to sit out. I am sure in Summer time is would be amazing. Many bars and restaurants around and very reasonably priced. There was a safe and a mini bar which was fully stocked. A small beer was priced at €2,75, perhaps a little pricy. Alicante is a lovely city beside the sea and we will definitely visit very soon again. People are wonderfully friendly. We will certainly stay at this hotel again anytime we go to Alicante, wouldn't stay anywhere else! Had a great time. Anne Farrell, Dublin, Ireland.

Room Tip: Higher rooms are probably better

You couldn't get a better location, with the seafront at 3-4 minutes' walk, a great choice of restaurants, cafes, and tapas bars within 3-4 minutes, and the entrance to the castle 10 mins.

We had no problems with noise, whether from the square or from other guests, the only slight niggle was a constant hum from overhead in our room, presumably a heating or air-con unit somewhere above us, which was quite annoying at night. Other than that, our room was very comfortable, loads of space, and a huge terrace with chairs & sunloungers, overlooking the square, the town hall, and the castle. The view was stunning!

Breakfast was a good buffet, no surprises but plenty of choice including some nice fresh fruit. Staff were friendly & helpful.

We were there in January, I'm sure the whole place is totally different in the summer, but for a winter city break I'd highly recommend Alicante and this hotel.

Room Tip: It's worth paying extra for one of the rooms higher up, with terrace/balcony overlooking the squ...

This hotel is in a fantastic location. Our room was fine for the price. Staff helpful and overall seemed like a really good bargain. However I can not ignore the fact that for three hours, between 2 am and 5 am on our last night, the noise of other guests was intolerable. Shouting, singing, drunk, slamming doors. As it went on for 3 hours, I can onoly draw the conclusion that no member of staff dealt with the issue. The following morning, we received profuse apologies from the staff who were well aware presumably from complaints by other guests that there had been a massive problem, so I have to ask why did it go on so long?
In addition to that, the room was far too warm: this was January and we could not regulate the temperature, so it must be unbearable in August. I am really sorry to say I wouldn't go back because of this. It could be a fantastic hotel.

We stayed here in December 2013 and it is a superb hotel right in the heart of the city. This hotel overlooks the City Town Hall and the Castle on the Hill. The location is fantastic , as is the quality of service.
We stayed in a beautiful suite with views of the old square . The room was excellent .
Breakfast was superb , with everything you need to fill you up for the day.
It is a short walk to all the old town and marina attractions , including a wonderful sand beach and the famous castle.
We walked around all the back streets at night and found some great Cafes, Bars and restaurants.
Alicante is a great holiday location for both an out of season weekend break away and also for a main holiday.
The Eurostars Hotel is the best !

Room Tip: Choose overlooking the square.

We had stayed at the Mediteranea Plaza a couple of times over three years ago and found it an ideal location not far from the waterfront, close to bars and restaurants and a short walk from the town centre and shops. The bus from the airport is a five minute walk away.
We had booked several weeks ago and requested a double, non smoking room overlooking the town hall plaza for our five night stay. Our late afternoon flight from the UK meant we didn’t arrive until 8pm, when we were given a fifth floor, twin, smoking room which, as both non smokers, we found unpleasant. Returning to reception, the very helpful receptionist told us there were no rooms as we had booked available but there should be one the following day. We noticed on our room card that we had been originally allocated another (non smoking) room but this had been changed to our present room. The room itself was a large, clean family room.
Breakfast was buffet style with a good selection of juices, breads, cereals, cold meats and cooked bacon and scrambled eggs. The ground floor dining room was clean and comfortable.
Later that day our new 3rd floor room overlooking the town hall plaza was ready but only twin beds, again clean and comfortable.
We needed to confirm a reservation at our next hotel and struggled with the wifi internet all day, some of it caused by misundrstanding from the receptionist.
Our room overlooked the town hall square and there was a Christmas ice rink installed, which looked a bit out of place in Spain but the local kids were really enjoying this novelty.
The other issue with the town hall square was that late at night over the weekend it was a meeting place for youngsters and was very noisy until the early morning, so much so that we needed to keep our windows closed to reduce the noise. This was OK in winter but maybe not so good in summer. There are quieter rooms at the back of the hotel but they only look out on to side streets and have no view at all.

Room Tip: All the smoking rooms are on floors 5 and 6. Quieter rooms are at the back of the hotel but there is...
