Bit difficult to find! (Take Esplanade heading North. Down to where Hotel Melia is to your right. Turn left at lights. Careful! Cross road...take small street to right. Top is T junction, turn left. Hotel is in corner of square on your left) But it is excellently located, right beside bars, cafes, shopping, the marina, the esplanade/sea, etc. The hotel reception is small...but this is a city centre hotel on 1 side of a lovely square so space is premium! The city hall is opposite so the buildings are wonderful old Spanish. Our reception was warm, friendly and welcoming. We felt right at home straight off! Our room was just gorgeous. Big and spotless with a bathroom to match. We were spoiled....we had a wonderful terrace with super views. No parking on site but it is within a few hundred metres. at €10 per 24 hours. We would stay again, no problem. The only reason for no 5 star is they are short on facilities.

Stayed here with two girl friends on a weekend get away, we were a little uncertain about Alicante but the flights suited for a weekend break and thought we'd chance it - booked the hotel after reading reviews on tripadvisor and had one of the best weekends we could of wished for, the taxi ride from the airport was only about ten minutes and the hotel was perfect, set in the old town our beatiful spacious room had a view out over the square which had things going on all weekend from weddings galore in the old buildings opposite to a full flamenco dress ceremony one afternoon. The staff were lovely and the breakfast very good, lots of lovely restaurants and bars very close, shops, marina and beach all great too.
We will return next year and will be asking for a room overlooking the square again - one of the nicest little hotels i've stayed in - HIGHLY recommended!!

We stayed 3 nights and we´re delighted with the room, breakfast and the staff. Very nice and serviceminded staff, clean and fresh rooms. And with only 5-10 minutes walking distance to the shopping area, beach and several muesum the location is nothing but a sucess on our part.

Price, most definitly affordable, 3 nights in a doubleroom = 150 euros. Breakfast buffé for approx 9 euro/person makes lunch redundant.

Many restaurants in the vicinity, gave many options for dinner.

We stayed here for 5 nights and we would definitely stay here again.

The only thing we didnt like about the hotel was the noise of the cleaners pretty early in the morning. They were lovely, friendly and helpful, but unfortuntly soundproofing is not the best so they do seem very noisy.

But we loved everything else about the hotel! We had a nice big room on the top floor, with a proper balcony with table, chairs and sun lounger. We had a room at the front so beautiful view of the castle and it was lovely watching the fountains in the square lit up at night.

We didnt notice any noise from the square, even though the hotel had warned us of this. The only downside of the top floor is that the rooms are smoking, I would have prefered non-smoking but the proper balcony makes up for this. It was lovely to sit out at night with a glass of wine, admire the castle and people-watch at the square.

(If you are not lucky enough to have a balcony / view, go up to the roof terrace to enjoy sitting out and the view. There are tables, chairs and sun loungers up there)

The reception is small, but what more do you need? Friendly, efficient staff who dealt with my faltering spanish graciously and spoke English when I needed it.

We didnt have breakfast at the hotel so can't comment. The square has a couple of lovely cafes for breakfast and there are plenty of places within a very quick walk. We found the location excellent, not on the main thoroughfares so quiet but literally a hop, skip and a jump to where the nightlife is.

The hotel, the little square and the beautiful town hall, have charm and character; many of the other tall, block hotels look vile and tacky. We had considered staying on the seafront and were so glad we didnt!

I dont know who awarded 4 stars to this hotel.
To me it is not a hotel at all-it has no bar, no restaurant, no pool etc.
The check in desk is about 2 metres wide and the lift can only hold 1-2 persons if there is any luggage.
I stayed in 604 which looked out to other apartments about 10 metres away.
It had no verandah as advertised.
It was a twin room notwithstanding that a double had been booked. It is approached by a short narrow corridor about one metre wide.
Yhe 'workstation' holds the tv ans is about a foot from the bed. The bedside locker jas a ringstain and the flooring is the cheapest laminate-not timber-you can get. The bed is rock hard with one pillow-after two days a second pillow requested had not aeeived-so sleep quality is not good-more one star quality
It is centrally located but so are lots of other hotels which are actually hotels with normal facilities.
I checked out after two nights despite booking for 5 nights.
The Albahia about a mile away is rated a 3 star and is vastly superior at 40% cheaper.
I will add photos shortly
If this hotel is rated officially at 4 stars then this needs to be brought to the authorities attention-if indeed it is rated a hotel at all.

Do not believe the photos on the website or the claim of 4 stars-neither reflect the true situation. I simply do not understand a lot of the reviews-I relied on them and the 4 star rating to book but which contradict what I found when I stayed

This hotel is rated as a 4 star hotel, however I would only rate it as a 3 star. The great points to this hotel, is that you are in a perfect location, within walking distance to everything. We were close to the harbor restaurants, close walk to the castle, and close walk to exploring the downtown area. The breakfast buffet was a good spread, of which I reccomend eating at. The rooms were clean, & the staff was friendly. However, definitely note that as this is an older hotel, there is not much soundproofing in between rooms & hallway. Our sleep quality was very poor. I would reccomend bringing earplugs, especially if you are here on business. Also, the airconditioning system was not funcitoning properly, therefore we mostly slept with the window open to get some cool air. I would also note that the beds are very outdated as the mattresses are fairly old.
If you are wanting to use the one computer in the hotel, it costs money for a certain amount of minutes.
The only time you will have a small view of the castle, is if you are in a room facing the courtyard. All of the other hotel rooms face other apartment buildings, which are located very close to the hotel.

This hotel is listed as a four star hotel and my first comment would be that it doesn't really live up to that star billing. However we only paid three star prices so we were completely happy with the hotel. Our room was a good size, the bathroom was huge and it was spotlessly clean. It was very quiet as the building work in the Plaza has now finished. The location in the town hall square is 5 minutes walk to the town beach and buses to and from the airport stop just around the corner. The staff were very welcoming and helpful.
