“What a wonderful experience!”
Reviewed 28 April 2014

Almost hidden down a back street in Haria, this is the house that artist Cesar Manrique was living and working in before he died. The Museum opened just last year and as soon as I got to Lanzarote it was the first thing we went to see. What a privilege to see his home and studio in its last working condition! It is a fantastic home - much more traditional in design than his early home in the volcanic tubes, but with immense charm and comfort and abounding with creativity. You can really see the man in the artist here. And you can also see his fantastic studio with the last painting still in place which he was working on when he died.. Being an artist myself, I'd just love a studio like that! The only pity is that you cant take photos and there isn't really anything you can buy either. You just have to savour the experience and imprint it on your mind!

“Manrique Heaven”
Reviewed 23 April 2014

Visiting Haria is a real joy. Typical Canarian Town. The house is as Manrique left it on the day he was killed on a roundabout near his old house.

It is a beautiful building with lots of fabulous artifacts.

A must if you love Manrique as much as me :-)

His Art Studio is truly fascinating and a little bit emotional.

“Emotive”
Reviewed 21 April 2014

There are many eloquent reviews about this place and while I didn’t quite experience all of the emotions described this is a stylish, emotive place. Well worth visiting. If possible drive to Haria via the LZ10 through the mountains, although be alert to some poor “tourist” driving. If you want to pay €15 instead of €10 per person you can access Fundacion Cesar Manrique in Tahiche for free. However you must visit on the same day. The normal entry to the Fundacion is €8.

“Stunning”
Reviewed 15 April 2014 via mobile

This is just the most beautiful house. Cesar Manrique was a visionary who was cut off in his prime.Who knows what he could have achieved in this lovely island if he hadn't been tragically killed in a road accident.

“Disapointing”
Reviewed 15 April 2014

10 euros was rather a lot for a walk around his house and did not reflect so much his more exciting architectural style found at other of his places
