Stayed for one night with dinner, bed and breakfast with a 35 minute treatment. The room was lovely overlooking the lake and garden. The meal was fantastic and beautifully presented although breakfast wasn't as good as my last visit, croissants were dry and the only choice of egg was scrambled. Last time there was a good choice of fresh fruits with nuts and seeds, this time just tinned fruit, but it was ok. The massage was wonderful and the facilities good although the showers weren't working in the swimming area. I rang to say I'd left my phone charger behind in the room, they took my card details and charged me £3 to return it which I thought was pretty mean considering we spent over £300 between two of us for one night.

Didn't visit the hotel or spa but visited today for lunch. Got there at 11.30, looked at menu, went for a walk, come back at 12.45 to order the lovely food on the menu. Was then told it was the evening menu so couldn't have it !! At no time were we told it was an evening menu and it did not say on the menu. We were offered the buffet !! Didn't like the lunch time choice and it was a waste of time going back to a menu which was not being served.

I usually visit Champneys, however, as they are becoming ridiculously expensive, I decided to try this place out as it is half the price.
Plus side:
complimentary pick up from and back to the station - wonderful service!
Rooms - we had a garden room that was wonderful - what a view in the morning! Beds were soooo comfortable, and very quiet. We slept very well.
Grounds - spectacular - better than any of the Champneys i've been to. We had lots of walks around the lilly ponds. It's magical.
Facilities: Pool is ok, steam room and sauna were all working great. loved the boiling hot thallassotherapy pool. Wasn't interested in the gym - but it looked ok.
Food - good quality and portions, reasonable priced wine list and bar. Full English available!
Treatments - I had an inclusive massage which was ok, and a £20 facial that was excellent - a bit hit and miss on which therapist you have.

Moany side:
Check in - it wasn't busy, but we didn't get any info about when our treatments were booked for, a map of the place, check out details, etc... we assumed it must be in our room. There was nothing, so had to do a bit chasing, and never found a map!
The building's a bit impersonal, Everything's hidden away, lots of closed doors, and long corridors - I never did find the changing rooms!!! or the Energy Studio..even though we followed the signs.. no one we asked knew where they were either . Its a bit like a posh prison spa...
Lack of magazines. I expected them to have a variety of free 'gossip' mags and the odd Harpers Bizarre knocking about.... but never found any.

I went with my husband, who went under duress, as the football was on. He loved it! The rooms had a telly, there was a bar, and he felt under no pressure to eat nuts and drink prune juice! He says he cant wait to go back!
I would go back, armed with copies of 'Grazia' to share. Lifehouse lacks the personal touches and atmosphere of Champneys, but at half the price, it is definitely worth the money.

Room Tip: garden view( don't assume that a twin room is beds you can push together! They are separate and...

We spent 2 lovely nights here on a great deal. The staff were really accommodating, moving our dinner back a night because I'd mis-read the booking info and cooking several vegan options for dinner. The staff are some of the friendliest ever!
The spa is lovely with nice variety and a good size. The grounds are gorgeous with nice touches like double deck chairs and yoga mats available.
Rooms and breakfast were absolutely fine (though surprisingly no veggie sausages for a healthy spa). Good shower, clean rooms and nice to walk straight out into the garden.
We don't get how people could have had such a different experience!

Best to go out if peak times, as it isn't as busy, staff were all helpful and at assistance 24 hour, was very very expensive but worth every penny, be prepared to pay extra on top for anything including drinks, massages, treatments. Was modern and tidy

Arrived after a 4 hour journey as we were staying at the hotel for the night prior to going on our holiday. We were greeted well, the check in was smooth and we we're shown to our room. We'd booked a superior room with a garden view and patio. We got what looked like an over grown back yard with a strip round the patio mown. The room it's self was oddly set up with the beds at an angle to each other, which meant that only one person in bed could view the television. The carpet had marks on it and the room would have been a lot better for a fresh coat of paint (not good for what is obviously a newish facility) and it wouldn't have hurt if the net curtains had been washed either. The food, though good, was spoiled by the fact that it was served in a restaurant that looked and felt like leisure centre cafe complete with the hard seats. Breakfast the following morning was okay, but nothing special and things like croissants were missing off the buffet as it seemed that staff couldn't be bothered to replenish them. All in all not impressed, especially given the money paid for the room and breakfast.

Second visit here, this time with hubby. Booking easy with Sarah in Reservations. Loved it but too short at one night! Food superb. Charlie extremely helpful, wanted a few deck chairs, job done. Service at dinner fab, again Charlie was on hand. Left booking treatments too late and spa reception not that friendly. Will make sure next time booked in advance. Room comfortable as always. Will defo return and soon. Choose the Lamb, it was cooked perfectly.

Room Tip: Ask for rooms overlooking the gardens
