This park is a real experience. We stayed at tlopi tented camp and loved it. The camp site is set on a dam at the base of the majestic waterberg mountains with incredible views. We even saw a pride of lions across the dam from our deck. The tents are private and have lots of space. The staff at reception are helpful and friendly. We were privileged to be able to book a game drive with Sydney. He is by far the best guide I have ever had. He is knowledgable and friendly and genuinely loves the animals and nature. He took us on a great tracking experience and we found the elephants. We then had an up close interaction with an elephant. It was a priceless moment. If you are at the park make sure you go on a drive with Sydney. The park is large and we completed it over 3 days. I think that's the perfect amount of time to visit. The bontle camp site looked like it may have needed a revamp however I can't comment on it as I did not stay here. This place is a true gem!

The 2 sides of the park are very different, with game easier to see on the entrance side. We had good sightings of warthog, wildebeest, zebra, impala and tsessebe. We were also lucky to see a male Nyala near the bird hide.
Lots of evidence of elephant on the eastern side of the park but no actual sightings.
A trip to the top of the mountain is a must, with breathtaking views.
I would be wary of taking small children, with no swimming there's very little for them to do.

We spent most of the day driving here, and the views were stunning. It is worth the visit just for the views. As I said in the heading; animals were hard to see. There were a few zebras, Giraffes warthogs and a variety of deer. Really boring on that front. Then again, I could have missed everything, who knows. It is indeed worth the visit just thinking of the views.
