It is often difficult to dislodge the chocolate box and chintz cliches that come to mind when contemplating the Chilterns. The exquisite picture-perfect hamlet of Henton, near Chinnor, home to Manor Farm Cottage, does little to dispel this notion.
A stay at this 400 year old Grade II listed family home is an experience to behold and
it has been our good fortune to become regulars since 2004. From the very moment of your arrival you will be treated rather more like "old friends" than new guests ... a very rare
quality in B&B's today. Proprietors Trevor and Jean Dixon are exceptional hosts, but then of course, this is their home. All of the guests are drawn to Manor Farm Cottage by the warmth of their hospitality and welcome and their attentive, yet unobtrusive service.
Antiques, exposed beams, roaring log fires and traditional English furnishings lend character, comfort and charm in winter, whilst the perfectly manicured garden offers a secluded, delightful and relaxing settting in the summer months, where Red Kites soar effortlessly in the thermals above.
The bedrooms are stylish with beautiful fabrics, pristine linen, bowls of fresh fruit, tea and coffee making facilities and a plethora of other treats. With bathrooms filled with lashings of toiletries, soft robes and piles of oh-so-fluffy towels, you may never want to leave.
Their ambrosial breakfasts are served in the blissfully peaceful dining room and will send you on a voyage to gastronomic nirvana. The menu is extensive, cooked to perfection and served with a smile. Should you decide to whimsy away your time here it will not be wasted and Manor Farm Cottage will be embedded in your soul.
