This accommodation is made special by the attention to detail of the lady who runs it. Margaret does everything she can to make your stay comfortable and is also very helpful with recommendations for things to do in the local area. My sister and I shared the twin room while my daughter, son-in-law and their 10 month old had the double room. The accommodation was perfect for us with the chalet being separate from the main house, as we did not have to worry about the possibility of the baby disturbing other guests or our host family. My daughter has found that many B&B's do not want to have you with young baby. Thank you Margaret for a wonderful stay, we will certainly stay with you again if we are in the area.

I absolutely loved Oaklands Lodge and the new forest area. Margaret was very welcoming and more than accommodating considering we ended up coming in much later than planned. There are two rooms both en suite with the kitchen/dining area in the middle. Everything was great, but mind your head on the beams. My husband and I couldn't get enough of the "wild" ponies and the deer sanctuary nearby was wonderful!

My 18 yr old daughter and I have just come back from a delightful 2 night break here. We were lucky to get accommodation as the festival was on. (We were in aware of this). The actual B&B itself is easy to find, with sat nav and the directions on the website. There is a visible sing 'oaklands' that you can see set back from the drive too. Plenty of room to park. I had had very good comms with Margret. Our twin room was ready on arrival. The place is immaculate. It is so quiet and peaceful. The garden is gorgeous and well looked after. Shady if you wanted to sit for a brew if you've had a long drive. There are tea making facilities in the room and a little fridge with fresh milk that was replenished daily. The beds were very comfortble. The linen was soft and fresh, there were a choice of pillows, and the towels were really soft and fluffy. The shower was excellent. There was a small tv mounted on the wall with free digital channels. We were at the end where the chickens were in the garden at the rear, and we were looking forward to maybe being woken by a cockerel but .... We didn't hear a thing. We were either dead to the world on both days, or the cockerel is just kept in the hen house to be kept quiet. There are deer in the forest and a horse next door. Wild life all over, and a perfect location here to explore the New Forest. Margret has maps on the walls and leaflets and has a very good local knowledge as her and her husband have lived there for a long time.
Breakfast was offered between certain times, ..the early time I can't remember because it was TOO early for my brain to register, but if you were on business that was a good deal, or Margaret said the latest was 9.30am.
Breakfast was laid up and served in a lovely room in the lodge, you had choice of cereals, and fruit juice, and yoghurts, full English or combination of what's on there, choice of how you had your egg, and choice of breads, etc. And so on, the breakfast is excellent and did us in good stead for the day really.

We did horse riding and canoeing while in New Forest, and went to Lymington, and Brockenhurst.... And when we felt like stopping to sight see with the animals - we just did. It was a tight packed few days, and I feel we will be back to try to spend more time here - actually trying to relax.

The pub 1 mile walk away down the road (woodfalls inn) is excellent for an evening meal...but Margret can recommend other places to eat or visit. She is an excellent host.

We stayed for three nights in the double room (king size bed) but a twin room is also available with two 3' beds which can also be configured as a 6' wide bed. Margaret is a truly lovely person. She is warm, welcoming and accommodating. The perfect hostess who also happens to cook the best breakfast we've ever tasted. The rooms are spotless and practical with plenty of storage, there's no shortage of hot water, and the towels are really soft and fluffy. There are tea and coffee making facilities in the room and a small fridge containing a milk jug which magically replenishes itself every day! The setting is tranquil, being right on the edge of a wooded area, and the parking is both safe and secure thanks to a 5 bar gate. The online images certainly don't do it justice and it's worth noting that the two rooms are separated by a dining room and a small kitchen so there's no transfer of noise at all between rooms. The whole experience was a delight and we cannot imagine how it could be improved upon at any price, much less the tiny amount Margaret charges.

Wonderful spot in the New Forest. What made our stay so good was that Margaret was a perfect hostess. We enjoyed tea with them in the afternoon and we had space to rest and relax after cycling. The pub nearby does great food for the evenings. Would return again. Thank you

We stayed at Oaklands Lodge as we were guests at a friend's wedding reception. Margaret was so accommodation as we arranged to check in early to ensure we could have a shower and get ready before the wedding and enjoy a nice cup of tea beforehand! The rooms were absolutely lovely, spotlessly clean and warm. The en suite facilities were also perfect!
In the morning, Margaret made a fantastic breakfast which was delicious! She was so welcoming and we really did enjoy chatting to her in the morning, sitting outside in her beautiful garden and watching the chickens!
Our stay was wonderful, it was just a shame it was over so quickly!
