We went here a few years back when we stayed at Sandy Balls Campsite for a mini break.
Found it hard to find, and was a bit hard to find anyone when we actually arrived. The woman who was in charge was a bit rude and abrupt and couldn't be bothered to take just the 2 of us it seemed, so sent us out with 2 of her "students"/stable girls. But this turned out to be brilliant. Both very lovely girls and the one in charge asked me a lot about my experience on horses. Having ridden quite a bit as a kid she encouraged us to gallop and race on a few occasions which was great fun as it's normally a canter at best when I've gone on a hack.
My other half didn't have as much luck as he is inexperienced with horses and had a very slow, stubborn shire horse!
The heavens opened on us when we were out which absolutely soaked us through but it was worth it.
Really lovely girls, wonderful horses and a very fun afternoon and well worth the money. Will be remembered for a long time.
