We stopped by this cosy pub on a Saturday lunchtime. The fact that it was very busy despite being in a small village in the countryside is a positive sign.

We were warmly greeted and served quickly. They have a good menu and some specials. We opted for the seabass, tapas board and coronation chicken sandwich and I can heartily recommend each of these choices. I had the sandwich which was served on thick bread from a local bakery. Plenty of filling and served with chips and a small salad. For £6.50 it was extremely reasonble and very tasty. The seabass was cooked to perfection and restaurant standard. The tapas board was also very tasty with a nice selection of food. All the meals were very nicely cooked and great value for money.

We liked our mains so much we decided to share some puddings. We had the apple crumble and sticky toffee pudding. Both were absolutely delicious.

All in all it cost £42 for three mains, two puddings and three drinks. Very good value and great service! Looking forward to going back soon!

Popped in for a quick drink on Sunday afternoon. Excellent range of beers, lovely food and added bonus of the best folk band I've heard for ages playing in the garden, "Mad Magdalen". Great tunes and stories, and some fabulous harmonies. What a fab way to finish a sunny weekend!

I can not sing the praises of the cartwheel enough! The staff were amazing and so helpful. The food was fantastic we also enjoyed sampling the local ales. Also this pub is dog friendly which for us was the most important thing! I would highly recommend and hope to visit again.

I have visited and eaten at this pub several times since the new landlord and landlady took over in December. The Cartwheel Inn is a traditional country style pub (which is its charm) and has a beautiful large garden with a built in slide for children. You will not find a more welcoming landlord and landlady than Angus and Sherry in my opinion and their hard work, dedication, teamwork as a couple and their ability to build a strong team around them has made this a success which I have no doubt will continue going from strength to strength. Every event they put on seems carefully chosen with the customer's entertainment and enjoyment in mind and they strive to cover all tastes and make it fun for all because they are a sociable, fun loving couple themselves. There are quiz nights, pub games, competitions, discos, fayres, boot sales, festivals, regular live music events and a summer ball - there is always something to look forward to. Friendly, welcoming, attentive staff and food to die for. The menu now is fantastic, its not just the choice of food on offer at The Cartwheel Inn or the affordability, it's the quality of the food which is delicious and the presentation which is just wonderful. I can't praise it enough - it's outstanding. I recommend this pub to all my friends and they do the same, it's well worth a visit you will not be disappointed.
