“Just for one night”

After a busy day visiting Giverny and several D-Day memorial stops, we were happy to arrive at the Hotel Le Beauvoir. We found the little town charming and our accommodations adequate. Our room for three was clean, spacious and the bath nice. Our host made us feel very welcomed. We ended up having dinner across the street after finding the dining area less than appealing.(too many flies hovering around the salad bar.)The next morning we were off to the Mont, however, we did have breakfast which was again, adequate.
Given this was just a one night stay, it fulfilled our needs and was clean. Always most important to us.

We spent one night in this hotel, after 9 nights in Paris. While the room was nothing special, it was spotless (incl the bathroom).

The service was fantastic, at the Inn and in the restaurant. The lady running the place offered to move her car, so I cld take her spot in the full parking lot.

The food in the restaurant was VERY good (dinner and breakfast). I had left my sunglasses on the table, which they returned as soon as they saw me back in the lobby (wasn't even aware I had left them) & was told "we found $15 euro under your table. Have you lost money?". I had NO idea if it was ours, so told them to keep it, just for being so honest!!

I saw precious comments about noise downstairs: it was REALLY quiet when we were there!!

So, while not fancy, it is VERY clean, great service, good food and a great location (playground right behind hotel for kids w a beautiful walking path along the river, with an incredible view of Mont St. Michele!!).

Would've loved to spend more time here!!

This was a last minute booking, so our expectations were not high. The two ladies at reception were extremely friendly and helpful. We stayed in the 3 bed room, which was clean and adequate for our stay. The bus stop to Pontorson is only a few metres away. We had to walk about 2 km to the car park where we got the free shuttle to Mont St Michel. We did look at the hotel menu, but decided to rather go to the restaurant across the road. Will stay here again, for price and location.

We could not check in at once because the room was not ready, however when we came the second time we were given another room (probably better than the first one). The woman in the reception spoke English as a native speaker which was good for us. Beauvoir is a small place close to Mont Saint Michel and it was a good location to stay at. We had breakfast at the hotel and the quality was ok in French standard. The hotel and room was a bit torn after many years of being a hotel. The hotel was sensitively and we could hear everything that was going on in the hotel. The hotel had Wi-Fi, but it didn't cover our room. Every restaurant in the town was reachable by foot. In short, it served our purpose as a one night stop on our journey.

Room Tip: The noise from outside in not a problem, it is more noise from the other rooms.

We have stayed in Le Beauvoir several times in the past and usually this hotel is very good. However, when we stayed here in early-August 2013 we were very disappointed. The room was shabby and the restaurant menu was limited and had lost the charm of previous visits. Furthermore, the hotel staff were condescending and rude particularly the hotel reception staff, not bothering to explain to us because we were English, that there was a problem with the card reader, notwithstanding that we can speak perfectly good French.
Overall, the stay was average, food in the restaurant was fine but compared to the past a disappointment. Location is ideal only a half hour walk to the Mont and bus routes are useful. Room is large. Breakfast alright but lacked much variety, moreover the breakfast room was in a poor state. In the past our stay here has been very pleasant, but it is now unlikely that we will return. What went wrong?

Overall this hotel is at best average, value is OK being reasonably close to, but not on the Mont.
Rooms not exceptional but are clean, access to the rooms is up a narrow staircase and on to a narrow passageway. Service provided by the young girl in restaurant on our first night was very good, even though her English was limited, she tried very hard to answer and understand us.
Other staff, who did speak rather good English were far less interested, and considering most, if not all guests, are there to visit the Mont, were not very forthcoming in advice or indeed interest.
We found the food in the Restaurant quite good, but was a limited Menu, with a few items on the Menu not available.
Breakfast was OK for the price charged, and the Car Park was ample and also free.

For starters, the hotel is 2 stars and not 3 as many hotel booking websites state. There is a lot of noise at night as there is a restaurant/bar downstairs. Had to go down to reception desk at midnight to ask the owner to ask people in the bar to lower their voices as we couldn't sleep. Wifi did not work and when we asked they told us it was our device's fault. We tried with 3 different devices and none of them worked so the problem was obviously theirs. Would never ever stay there again.
