The hotel is in a beautiful setting and the service is impeccable, Japanese style.
We had dinner at Mokushundo restaurant the day of our arrival and had high expectations not only because of the hotel setting but also looking forward to have the best Japanese beef and seafood.
The beef was defrosted as was the shrimp, which looked opaque and both of them were tasteless.
Although the woman cooking the food smile and was gracious she cooked the food so slow that we ate one bite at a time.
My husband is allergic to shrimp and we mentioned this several times so she could proceed and cook the beef first along with the vegetables. She ignored it. There was a Japanese native speaker with us was so it was not about language.
The dinner experience was not bad but the food was of poor quality. Last night we had dinner in a restaurant in Asakusa and the beef was so different it looked fresh, red and it melted in our mouth as it should!
At the hotel we paid close to $500.00 including one glass of wine, a beer and a soda for four people.
Last night we ordered more beef dishes plus other ones, two beers and three sodas for five people and the bill was one third of that of the hotel restaurant.
We are leaving on Friday and it is a shame our first experience was so poor that it has held us back from experiencing other restaurants at the hotel.
We hope the managers take a close look at the reviews and complement the beautiful setting and impeccable service by offering good quality food.
