“Very small room but great location”
Reviewed 27 May 2014

We stayed in this hotel for 3 nights. The room is unbelievably small. Appreciated the massage chair in the room but thought the room would have more space without the chair in there. Wish they have better exhaust system for the Muji Cafe at the lobby, the garlic smell that spills all over the lobby & into the lift can be a little unbearable.

Nevertheless the hotel is modern & clean, situated at a very convenient location - very close to the Yurakucho train station, Hibiya subway & Ginza. The row of Japanese barbecue restaurants & pubs underneath the railway near the hotel are fantastic! Must try!

The Remm Hibiya was an experience by itself for me. Though my expectations were much lower I somehow got acquainted fairly quickly with my room. Its definitely not 4 stars...i would say 2 1/2 - 3 stars. Rooms are fairly small and the wash basin is right next to the bed but with a glass partition. The Bath was very small yet the shower and soaps made up for the irritating size of the room. As a single person on business I was hardly in-house during the day, so somehow managed fairly well in that tiny space. The Lobby Level is one level above and my check-in was fairly smooth. They all speak English fairly well. If you need a cuppa in the room you need to pick up the Tea and coffee packets from reception(free); there's a kettle to boil water and refresh yourself in the room. Smoking rooms are available. The cable TV was too Japanesed, however if you want to see Movies there was a pay channel; but to open this mode you needed to buy coupons from a vending machine on your floor, and then enter the code on the TV. The Internet was free. I wasn’t much excited over this Hotel, but somehow it took care of little little things in a different way. The Massage chair took up too much space in the room, but after a hard day's work it was very relaxing and comfortable just to sit in it. The breakfast room is at reception level and nothing to get high on. There's Jap dishes and some western; toast butter jam, eggs, juice, tea& coffee. If you care to have your own coffee expresso a small walk from the hotel gets you to Starbucks, or even closer is American Café. The bath cubicle is really small but the high pressure shower jet was really refreshing. The Hotel's location is super. There are so many restaurants and bars in the adjoining lane, you can really enjoy a wide variety of food every day. The Imperial Grand Hotel is right opposite the Remm Hibiya, with a huge shopping gallery if you wish to purchase some branded stuff. If you are a sensitive sleeper, beware, there's trains passing by half block away. At night the Ginza is at your doorstep. The Remm is not my preference but it was a good stay.

Room Tip: I can't help here as my room had a lot of passing train sounds...

My husband & I stayed in this hotel last March for 3 nights. Our main complain was the room size. However, hotel had many positives:

Great location. Easy access to 3 metro lines. 5-7 min walking.
Couple of convenient stores in the surrounding area, plus couple of restaurants.
Hotel can be spotted from a distance so reachable if you are visiting for the 1st time.
Staff were polite & helpful.
Good space in bathroom & shower considering how tiny the room is.
Water flow and temperature in shower was great.
Free wifi with good speed in all over the hotel.
Good tea collection in the lobby for free.
Great view from our 18th floor room.
Stylish and modern interior.

The negatives on the other hand were:

Room size was so small. It was so hard to open the luggage and move in the room. Really too small for 2 adults. There was no space in room to put luggage on, so, we used table.
Bed size. If bigger it would be better.
Poor English collection of TV channels for entertainment. VOD (movies to be ordered) were old movies.
Massage chair not working. I couldn't figure out the way it works. Its remote control was all in Japanese.
Restaurant in the lobby smells the Japanese food strongly, and it's all over the lobby.

All over experience, it's kind of a value for money (considering the Japanese hotels). It's great location helped in discovering the tourists'areas easily using metro.

Room Tip: The higher the room, the better the view over the railway & the city.

We got to the Remm Hibiya via the yarakucho JR, it's pretty close 5min walk. The check in is fast and efficient. We stayed 4nights and we took the breakfast. The room is compact, small in space as expected as we just had come from the Remm Shin Osaka. But being a couple the massage chair was a bit in the way. We thought of asking them to remove it from our room but them we just kind of "folded" it . The rooms are mainly meant for business ppl with small carry ons in understand that. It is clean nothing to complain about. Pretty standard. So Is the b fast were you get a choice of western or Japanese , once u get the tray u can help yourself to juice, tea, coffee, rice, soup and bread. The location is central very close to Ginza. Accessible through the JR line or Hibiya metro. I would recommend if visiting tokyo on business, if visiting on leisure keep in mind the size of the rooms. But apart from that it's a great place.

I stayed at Remm for Business (Foodex). I arrived via Haneda and took the monorail and a taxi to Remm. That took about 30 minutes, nice and easy. My jet lag addled brain couldn't figure the lift to reception reading 1, and LB. LB is lobby not lower basement. Small but nice rooms all very modern. Great rain shower, all TV channels in Japanese and hard to figure out the AC in Japanese - reception has English instructions for all. I found that staff could speak English quite OK. Wifi is fast. The bed was very comfortable.

Location is great. Walk down the street to Hibiya metro subway for access to 3 lines. JR Yarakucho a 5 minutes walk. So many great little bars cafes and restaurants in this area. A big park for morning joggers..

Breakfast was included in my room rate but it was pretty basic, ie scrambled eggs potato salad plus coffee n buns. But nice little coffee shops just next door.

Right next to Ginza shopping and eating, fantastic location if you are a foodie and or barfly.

p.s If you are a big couple, the rooms might be a challenge.... eh eh

It was cold in Tokyo this week, but tolerable. It snowed outside on Friday evening.

Excellento

Room Tip: As others say, ask for room away from railway. With the Shinkasen Bullet trains whizzing by plus loc...

The room is small as expected, but for me with just carry-on luggage this is no big deal.

Then what keeps me seated in the compactly well-organized room is the massage chair! It's so nice to be given clear instructions on some small laminated page and...voila! Press the buttons and you can seat yourself comfortably enjoying the massage from back to hip as if it was done by some nice Japanese! I always consider such a chair standard in the large rooms in luxury hotels, but how often would you come across with such an amenity in a small, 4-star hotel room?

The shower stall and the bed adjoin each other but they are separated by a glass wall with an up-down curtain to keep each other's privacy. The vanity area is really a bit tiny with hardly any space to lay flat all the personal grooming stuff. That said, you can learn how to arrange things compactly well, which I have learned so much in hotels in the city.

Breakfast is a treat - the MUJI Cafe on the 2/F - given the large glass walls throughout the dining area so that you can enjoy the view. Buffet is out of the question, however. You are given two choices - Japanese and Western. Order the Japanese one as it matches with the other foodstuff on the large table offering selections of rice, miso, bread, coffee, etc. (have as many helpings as you can!) in the common area before enjoying the meal.

Of course the hotel is for great city trips as it is so close to Yurakucho JR, one station away from the huge Tokyo Station. A lot of activity like shopping and seeing movies is just at the doorstep and for those who want to enjoy nature, head to Hibiya Park, a 5-minute walk away.

Just walk up to the reception on the 2/F (right across the MUJI cafe), check in with the always courteous staff, go to your room and start being pampered!

Room Tip: Pick a room on higher floors with a nice view of the Imperial Hotel right across.
