Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed 21 February 2014

Stayed first time in the Palace, Tokyo, for a three day business trip. Location is excellent in proxmity both to the business district as well as adding a bit of a 'holiday' feeling due to proximity and overlook of the Imperial Palace and Gardens. So make sure you get a room high enough up on the respective side of the hotel.

Rooms were excellent. Very spacious, modern design, new, big bathroom. Staff is extremely polite and helpful. Great service. Tried the gym a couple of times, which is also very modern with very friendly staff. Concierge service great in organising a couple of things for me.

So it was very worthwhile trying a new 5 star location and Tokyo, and definetly one I will come back to.

Room Tip: High enough on the side overlooking the Imperial Palace / the Gardens

The location of the Palace Hotel is very convenient. A short walk from the train station, right next to the Imperial Palace and gardens. The rooms are very comfortable and classy ! The service in the hotel was extremely good and the staff was very helpful and polite. Definitely a place to come back to !!

This is a very impressive property, right up there with the best in terms of service, room design, common areas and choice of dining options. Tokyo struggles to provide the senior business traveller with good choice. The ageing 5 star options of the Imperial and Dai-Ichi are tired and even the non-smoking areas and floors reek. The Palace offers good value for a LHW and sits between the fading grandeur of those mentioned and the pricey Four Seasons, Shangri-La and Aman. Trust this hotel and it won't disappoint. New, sleek, spacious and super design sitting with spectacular views over the Palace and next to the wonderful district of Maranouchi.

Excellent service and location. Rooms are new, spacious, clean and comfortable. Concierge was helpful with suggestions, documents and reservations. Beds were comfortable as well. Breakfast buffet was good - not spectacular. Connection to subway system under hotel was very convenient - no need to step outside. Superb location for exploring Tokyo by metro.

The rooms have all been updated recently and some of them have spectacular views of the Palace grounds. From the moment you cab pulls up, the hospitality starts flowing. Super fast check and the on site dining options are very good. This place is a reasonable value and just a short walk from the big Tokyo train station.

My first visit to Tokyo I stayed at this wonderfull hotel. Great view from nice room. Top location next to imperial garden. Extremely friendly staff. Two days was too short to use evian Spa or gym. Only negative point is that you have to Pay separately for swimmingpool.

After trying every other form of Japanese accommodation (Love Hotel, Capsule, Business, Ryokan) I decided to go high end in Tokyo.

There is no part of this experience that wasn't exquisite. I've never experienced the level of service offered at the Palace. The room, the linens, the view, the restaurants... Nothing was less than perfect.

One example: I went to the lounge for afternoon tea and chose the chocolates and tea. 5 handmade chocolates and peppermint tea with the most perfect view. I nibbled those chocolates slowly, savouring every bite. It took almost 2 hours. However, every 15 minutes the staff would refresh my tea. No questions. No fuss. Just perfect, intuitive service.
