Akasaka Excel Hotel Tokyu

The hotel is very conveniently located next to a Subway line and has access to many shops and restaurants. The rooms are relatively specious, of course relative to Tokyo, well features including Nespresso Machine + capsules, enough power outlets, comfortable bed and very clean. The staff is responsive, helpful and almost always available. Breakfast is very expansive at $25 and the quality is poor. The food is not fresh, coffee is watery and there is no choice - just black coffee. Not recommended - just cross the street to the many bakeries and you will have cheaper and better breakfast.

On our way to Karuizawa for skiing, we stayed 1 N at this hotel. Japanese courtesy and hospitality with humility plus sustained team work in facility maintenance makes the hotel standards world-best. This is a modern business hotel, with basic amenities -slippers, toothbrushes, shavers etc well stocked. Another great plus is the airport limo that stops right at the door step. Situated within Chiyoda-ku you can walk or take the subway to Ginza, Roppongi, Shinjuku. The only complaint that I have is the stuffiness of the room when the heater is on during the winter.

The rest of the world's hotels take note: Japanese hotels have the best service ever. The staff met us in the lobby with our room keys and collected our bags for delivery to our rooms...all that and no tipping, as good service is the norm and tipping is not customary.

This hotel was conveniently located near shops and restaurants, and even had a 7/11 at street level.

Our room was large with a desk area, closet, and refrigerator. Though the bed was firm, it was very large and comfortable enough, as were the (buckwheat?) bed pillows.

The bathroom was massive, with a huge glass-enclosed shower and tub that contained the steam just in that section. My favorite part of staying at Japanese hotels is always the toilet--heated seats, built-in bidet, and bum-washer. Every hotel around the world should have these!

The free WiFi worked well. The breakfast was excellent with many Western and Japanese choices--even miso soup.

We would definitely stay here again the next time we're in Tokyo.

Business traveler, in Tokyo for a week. What impressed me most was the willingness of the staff to help me out with a variety of issues. Complex multi-room bookings, several restaurant reservations with assistance in finding ones that will offer vegetarian options.

Adequate room size, by Japanese standards (small by NA standards). Break buffet was decent. Given they I am a vegetarian there were limited options, but in Japan I'm grateful to have any. Convenient located near a major subway intersection. Lots of nearby restaurants.

Can't fault anything really. The hotel was clean and modern, the food was fine, the location excellent. Close to the metro, which made it great to get around. I travelled alone so I took a standard room. If you will, too, be prepared for quite small rooms, though I'm not sure if it's average by Tokyo standards. There's a great advantage of the hotel being on the route of a comfortable limousine bus to the airport. Highly recommend using it because taxis in Tokyo are not cheap and the distance is not negligeable.

This hotel is nicely located where you can access to the metro within a minute and it's only 3 stops away to Ginza. And just opposite to the hotel, there is a BIC camera and lots of restaurants for you to choose from.

Hotel is generally clean but the single room at the back is quite small and room tends to be dark due to sunlight being blocked by hotel wall. In terms of price, it's pretty reasonable.

Even breakfast isn't included in my room rate, there are many cafes in the area and so you need not worry about finding a good place for breakfast.

Room Tip: Prefer street facing rooms with more sunlight.

Excellent location was what I feel for and the hotel delivered on this. Five Metro lines underneath the hotel. Lots of various restaurants in the neighborhood, however as it's a financial district it attracts the massage sales in every street/corner which may awkward.
Aim for a room not facing the street as it is a bit noisy all day.
