“Hasn't changed in 22 years - still friendly and great location”
Reviewed 15 May 2013

My wife and I decided to stay here for a night to remember doing so when we first came to Japan 22 years ago. The building hasn't changed a bit, and whilst I am sure the staff has changed, the friendly attitude hasn't. The front desk and customer relations team are very friendly and helpful.

The rooms are a bit dated, but still well maintained, and yes small. Nice bath though.

We ate at the restaurant downstairs, nothing special and again starting to show its age. That said so am I.

The best thing about the Daiichi Annex is its location. An easy walk to Ginza, the Imperial Palace and plenty of eating options. A nice Tripp down memory lane.

Took taxi from Haneda airport (around 7000 yen) and he took us to the Dai-ichi hotel. It is just across the road but you know I took taxi and want to get off right at the hotel door. Anyway, if you plan to take taxi, make sure it's Annex Dai-ichi. We saw a lot of people having the same problem while seeing them walking from Dai-ichi to Annex.
The hotel is very close to Shimbashi station which has JR, metro, and the monorail to Odaiba. It only takes 5 mins to walk there and there is also a underground passage to go to the station so it's go even it's raining. There are so many convenience stores around and enough restaurants. It takes around 10 mins to walk to Ginza or 15 mins to the Tsukiji market.
For the hotel itself, it's a business hotel so don't expect too much. As most of the Tokyo hotels, the room is small. It could be very noisy since the hotel is next to the train track. Maybe ask for room not facing the train rack is better.

I had to stay at DAi-Chi hotel because someone wanted to jog around the imperial palace, fortunately, the company paid for the rooms, but it was still over priced at $ 260.00. I had non smoking room but the room and the floor smell like smoking room.

We stayed in Dai-Ichi Hotel Annex for few nights in December and enjoyed our stay.
The rooms are simple and decent size for Tokyo and hotels price. It was clean and efficient. The location is very convenient and is near the train, has a lot of places to eat, few markets and an electronic store near by. It is a great place to stay if you want to explore the city and the neighborhood!

I have to say that they do a good job with customer service in that they allowed us to checkout of the hotel after checking in for 1 hour. My co workers and I, five in total, checked into this hotel. As soon as each of us walked into our room, we were disappointed with the cleanliness of the room and a distinct odor. I went to the front desk and noticed that all of my coworkers were already asking to checkout because they couldnt stay at this hotel. The staff was kind enough to let us do this. So after checking in at 11 pm, we checked out at midnight and transferred to another hotel and we were very happy with this decision. I stayed at another Daiichi Seafort several times and Daiichi Annex is cheaper but not recommended. To see the other hotel I stayed at in Japan, look at my reviews. I'm sure that this hotel was nice at some point however to me, this hotel is need of a renovation.

We stayed for four nights in December 2012. This hotel was recommended by my mother-in-law, who lives about an hour from Tokyo and has been a member of the hotel's loyalty program for 20 years. As other reviewers have mentioned, the hotel is a short walk from the Shimbashi station, which makes it very handy for getting around Tokyo. Also the Ginza district and Imperial Palace gardens are within walking distance. There is a convenience store across the street, so it's easy to grab water and snacks on the way to sightseeing on back to the hotel. The rooms were small but very efficient, well stocked with electric kettle, refrigerator, tea, robes, and a good selection of toiletries and personal items (except, inexplicably, hand lotion). As expected, the room and bathroom were scrupulously clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful, arranging for some of our luggage to be forwarded to our hotel in Kyoto. (You can do this very conveniently in Japan; a great service for travellers!) We were on the 8th floor and it was very quiet. We did not try any of the restaurants at the hotel.

Stayed here for 5 nights in December/January for New Years in Japan. The hotel is within walking distance to Ginza and Tsukiji fish markets and a two minute walk to the Shimbashi station. Right across from the hotel are Izakayas serving yakatori or traditional Japanese food. If you go under the tracks on the other side there ore more places to eat/drink too.

We stayed on level 8, the room was right next to the elevator but you couldn't hear the elevator, however you could hear people outside as they walked passed. Being close to the train track you can hear the train as it went but this didn't bother us however if you are a light sleeper you might find this an issue.

As for room size, it was much bigger than what was available at the time of booking (18 SQM) a bit small by western standards but expected. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom small but clean with good water pressure.

The hotel staff were friendly and accommodating, they helped with booking the TA-Q-Bin and let us check in at 10am!

I would definitely book this hotel again.

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the elevator
