“Good value in a convenient part of town”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 May 2012

Convenient location close to the JR rail station; nice walk to imperial palace and city center. Very quiet away from large streets. OK size of room (two beds plus sofa bed) when traveling as family.

I stayed at the Hotel Metropolitan Edmont for four nights in February. The hotel is well located, a five minute walk to both the underground and above-ground train stations. There are also restaurants and shops nearby, and a Starbucks, 7-11 and chemist within the same block. Very close to the Tokyo Dome (2 minute walk). Hotel itself was great - rooms are vert clean, small but not pokey, bathrooms have everything you need and service from the hotel staff was great - very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is the usual Japanese style, with a few Western-style additions. Only negative I would point out, is that in what seems to be the usual Japanese style, there are no ironing boards in-room. You must request them from the front desk and there are a limited number. Just keep in mind if you are on a business trip! Overall, would recommend, and would stay again.

This review is long overdue. Hotel Metropolitan Edmont is an excellent base to discover Tokyo.

Hotel has a superb sushi restaurant where we ate on our first night. 15 different kinds of sushi expertly prepared over the counter. Totally amazing experience.

Staff are very professional, helpful and always polite (who isn't in Japan!?!)

Room is small but can't complain. This is truly an excellent base.

I would definitely stay here again!

Good location either business or pleasure. Quiet place. Just a little walk from Iidabashi or Suidobashi. People is so polite, as usual in Japan. The room is not so big but comfortable enough. You can find good rate @ Rakuten Travel.

Stayed here for a conference: booking was arranged via the conference agency. This hotel has extremely polite and helpful staff, especially those on the bell desk, but overall it's a bit too expensive for the facilities provided. Rooms were spotlessly clean. Food provided at the breakfast buffet was good (continental and Japanese) but with little variety. No WiFi, but the wired internet was fast and worked well.

I stayed here as part of a group for a business trip. This hotel was ideal, as it was accessible by subway (though figuring out the subway system in Tokyo can be daunting). The rooms were on the small side compared to hotels in the US but I found them to be just right (I am 5'2"). The decor was simple but functional, and space was used very efficiently. Also, the bathroom had nice touches such as the anti-fog are on the mirror at eye level, and of course, the complex toilet. Also, the room was immaculately clean!

The restaurants in the hotel were great--I wound up eating dinner one night as well as having breakfast. The food was great, and the atmosphere was very upscale. Overall, the hotel decor is very stylish and modern, and very pleasant.

I found the service in the hotel to be incredibly helpful and polite, and communication in English was not a problem.

Overall, it was a very pleasurable stay for a business trip, and certainly worth a return visit.

We have just returned from a 4 night stay at te Edmont hotel and were very impressed.

Its not ideally situated for tourists being a few miles outside away from any of the main areas but is a 5min walk from both the Idibashi Metro line and the Idibashi JR Line so is accessible to most of the city in a very short space of time courtesy of the extremely efficient Tokyo transportation network (it took us nearly 2 days to get our head round this vast network of lines).

But back to the hotel.

Reception and bell staff were great and all spoke excellent english.

Rooms were all lovely and kept to a high standard by the housekeeping.

Breakfasts were buffet style which suited us, and both a continental and japanesse style were available. Couldnt find fault at all with this.

The hotel seems to cater largely for business people but we found it excellent for tourists as well.

If you want to be right bang in the middle of things then you are prob better off in Shinjuku or Ropponggi, but if you are happy do all your sight seeing during te day and to have a bit of a quieter life later on (we were shattered after being on the go all day) and dont mind getting your using the subway lines then the Edmont is an excellent choice

  • Liked — Service and the rooms were excellent
  • Disliked — Idibashi station is a local not express line
