Japan ROCKS those train station hotels! The Tokyo Station is so close to the mayhem that is the actual station... yet once you are ensconced in a room, you feel like the Queen in London! Impeccable service: the manager was upset he couldnt find us when we arrived at the station but made sure to make up for it with a gorgeous room...the bell hop girl immediately noticed my kid would need smaller pjs, and brought her these with matching slippers and a small gift. The staff at breakfast noticed my kid didnt eat much, and gave us a discount on her buffet. Another bell hop girl took us through the station the next morning, waited outside a bento shop with our luggage while we selected our lunch, and saw us safely on our shinkansen.I only wished we could have stayed longer. Wow!

Room Tip: Our room looked down onto the rotunda of the Station. Perfectly quiet.... a slight whisper of bells...

Was on the way to Narita and did a one night stay in Tokyo Station Hotel.

The interior of the hotel was impressive and certainly recalls the past glamour of travel. Check in was smooth and was pleasantly surprised to be upgraded to a king sized bed room. The bathroom was huge and the rain shower was really refreshing.

The Hotel Concierge helped me pre-book a sushi dinner nearby, which was really enjoyable.

Had a good night sleep in a room overlooking the city. Service was impeccable. Would choose it again for its convenient location by the main Tokyo Station.

We booked into this hotel for one night before heading to Kyoto for a week. I was booking from Canada and had a number of questions and all were answered via email promptly. We booked a classic room which was small but gorgeous. The rain shower and heated toilets were worth the price alone. But what set this place apart was the assistance from the train station, at check in, escorting you to your room, explaining how things worked in the room and then escorting you back to the train station on your way out of Tokyo. Unbelievable service. Canadian hotels should take note!! We enjoyed it so much that we rebooked a room again the night before we were to fly out to New Zealand. There were no Classic rooms left so we did have to pay extra, but the room was twice the size and both times we were upgraded to a view of the city. Again impeccable service. Oh... and be sure to indulge yourselves with the buffet breakfast at least once. Delicious!! The whole experience was fit for a king! Thank you Tokyo Station staff for giving us such fond memories on our arrival and departure. Your hotel will be one of our fondest memories.

Room Tip: If you can afford it, choose the Twin rooms. Larger and nice size beds. But the Classic rooms had al...

We found our way easily on Narita Express train to hotel and cost only about $30. Japanese people are lovely and go out if their way to help. Hotel is first rate with courteous staff and beautiful (small by US standard but expected) rooms and facilities.

I stayed for two nights and had a single room - not huge but well-designed and luxurious. A fisheye mirror created a sense of extra space. The bathroom was particularly nice, and provisioned with good quality toiletries. Enjoyed seeing the historical photographs in my room and the corridors, and staying in such an interesting place. I just had a nearby Tokyo street view from bedroom and bathroom but it included a street crossing so could observe people going back and forth. The bedroom window was very close to the bed so needed to get on the bed to operate the blind. The location is great being at Tokyo station with easy access to all forms of transport and many sights, and many many shops and restaurants/cafes, within walking distance. The staff were very courteous and helpful, with quick attention to requests and efficient carriage of tasks such as luggage forwarding. Would stay again.

Room Tip: A good view would be a bonus, but the importance of that depends how much time you actually intend t...

This was an absolute treat to stay at this hotel. It has been rebuilt and refurbished in the last five years and is just spectacular. It is right at the station, so very handy. It is also right across the road from all the designer shops and a quick walk to the Ginza area where there is also great shopping. The rooms a very decadent and comfortable. We were treating like royalty while we were there. Everything was just perfect.

Comfort, quality, great service, historic presence, and LOCATION make this hotel the only place to stay in Tokyo. This is one of the few hotels that has a great first night bed - no getting used to it, just fall right in for a comfortable sleep. The luxurious bath, robes, and sleep wear add to the pampered experience. Oh, and please DO have the breakfast in the atrium, serving both traditional Japanese and Western food. Great food, and a great value in a city that doesn't have as many breakfast options. Preservation buffs, check the archives for the story of this incredible restoration and preservation project.
On levels below, or just adjacent to, the hotel are a primary subway line and the train station. In most other cities this would not be desirable, however, here it is one of the best amenities. If you do nothing else, eat a few meals here - there are dozens of restaurants, take-out, and bento (basement shops have the best bento), and shop the train station, both levels. especially easy to do with a rail pass. Do as the residents do - travel, eat and shop the station!

Room Tip: south rooms slightly better than north, and the corner room of the octagon slightly smaller. that...
