“Convenient convention center”
Reviewed 1 July 2014

Was here for a conference Last April, it's huge convention center with a modern design. Can be bit confusing because of the size. It's surrounded by many chick shops and eatery, and can be easily accessed from Hibiya and Yurakucho station. Walking surrounding this convention is a nice treat to eye, and you can find a hidden park nearby.

“never fails to impress”
Reviewed 17 May 2014

An outstanding building. I visited this great conference facility for a conference 15 years ago, when it was then recently opened, and visited it again last month. This architecture never fails to impress.
The sheer grandeur of the place makes it sometimes confusing, and in few instances it can be user un-friendly, as having to find the specific elevator to go to a certain level particular room!
Nevertheless, it is mostly grand, beautiful, impressive and to a good extent use friendly. During a sunny day, you get a great visual reward from inside

“Nothing to do but look”
Reviewed 10 May 2014

I made a trip here since I had some hours to spare and I'm glad I came but there isn't anything really to do. It was easy to get to, and that made the trip even faster, I enjoyed looking around for the whole 10 minutes I spent walking around in the building then I left. There were several expensive cafes inside and around the area I was, but that was about it. If you're there for an event I'm sure it's more interesting but other than the great architecture there isn't anything more.

“Go on a sunny day for a visual treat”
Reviewed 30 April 2014

Conceived during Japan's great real estate bubble in the late 1980's and built on what was the site of the Tokyo Municipal Government Offices before they were moved to the two twin towers just west if Shinjuku Station.

This is one of Japan's finest examples of the use of space and light in architectural design. As a practical building perhaps not the best investment the city ever made but as a showpiece of modern design, the use of glass, steel and light it is outstanding.

Although a bit difficult to find one can walk underground from this building to Tokyo Station which can be a convenience during a rainy day, although probably faster just to use the Yamanote Line from Yurakucho station which is immediately adjacent.

They hold a flea market of all things on Sunday afternoon in the central plaza at the foot of the two block long 6 story high atrium. Sort of tells me that it is not much of a money maker for the city, but as a showpiece it is outstanding.

The big BIC Camera store is just to the south in case you need to do some shopping, and the Imperial Palace Grounds Plaza is about 4 blocks to the west. Also easy walking distance to Ginza 2 Chome.

“Excellent place for conferences”
Reviewed 19 April 2014

Visited the building for an ophthalmic conference. With an imposing glass facade as one half of the building, this is an attractive building. There is a large space between the 2 parts of the building where we had the opening ceremony.

Having the building in 2 parts makes it easier to go between different rooms, though a bit confusing initially. They have several walkways connecting the 2 parts making for great connectivity.

It also has several dining places and access to metro from the building itself.
