I loved the architecture here. It took us less than an hour to walk through the lineup of stores. Prices seemed a bit higher but likely due to the uniqueness of their products. We arrived here by taking the JR Yamanote train to the Akihabara station - exit at the Electric Town (denki gai) exit. Its a 5 minute walk to this site.

If you have been travelling by to several JR station in Tokyo and you would like to find a nice coffee shop to rest for a bit, somewhere that is not just a Starbucks... I recommend going there!!! It is at Akihabara Station.

Being the old train station, there is a history, and much of it dug out and replaced with modern restaurants and craft shops. When I arrived, much of the interior vendors were setting up or changing, I couldn't tell. What was available to see was hand-made, higher end pieces from jewelry to accessories. The restaurants and eateries here had a classy feel and look to them. This is definitely a hop, skip, and a jump away from the chaos of Akihabara.

On the Kanda Riverside, you can find some benches and seats to rest and just enjoy the quiet splendor of the green-hued waters. This isn't an exciting place, instead it has an ambiance of being laid back, almost east-coast USA in a sense. When it's up and running, I'm sure it will be a fun place to spend some time looking around and getting a bite to eat.

This is the old Manseibashi train station, which is older than Tokyo station. The old platform, while no longer servicing any trains, has been converted into a coffee shop, where you can watch the trains go by every 3 minutes. Easiest access would be either walking west from Akihabara station or walking east from Ochanomizu station. There are a few shops down below, but I didn't go to these.
