“EXCELLENT Location”
Reviewed 12 November 2013 via mobile

We stayed in this hotel 2x (Oct 30-Nov 1 & Nov 2-4) in one trip to Japan breaking midway to spend the weekend overnight out of town.
Like most Japanese hotels, it has small rooms but very clean (On our 1st leg they put us on the 13th fl w/c has newer rooms that are a bit more spacious! On our 2nd leg they put us on the 9th fl where rooms were older, tighter, but still very clean) Not too good service though, no one helped w/ our luggage, front desk not always helpful with directions nor with just calling a cab!?! Even at breakfast, the staff kept on reminding us (to hurry us up!) that it ends at 10! (Always had a wedding reception after) LOCATION though is what saved them, 3 min walk fr main st of Ginza where Mitsukoshi, Wako, Uniqlo, Zara, H&M are (abt 5-10min walk); Family Mart & Sunkus convenience stores across the st, an Ippudo (ramen) & Yabaton (miso katsu resto) down the st. All in all we would still want to stay here again!

Being my first time in Tokyo, I was expecting a closet as a room. Was pleasantly surprised, as the rooms are comparable to North American room sizes - I don't know if I lucked out or this room is standard. There is a double bed that could easily fit 2 adults, with a foyer area for luggage. Buffet breakfast is quite expensive and not very good, I don't recommend eating here - there is a cafe very closeby with coffee and pastries. Wifi is terrible, signal is in and out so hard wiring computer is a must to get any consistent connection, LAN cable is provided in the desk drawer. Water bottle from the mini fridge is only a dollar (100 yen) so they are not trying to rip you off. Overall, great place. Would recommend to visitors of Tokyo.

It takes just one underground trip (no line transfers) to get you 400m away from the hotel. This is convenient because a taxi costs 7,700 yen to get here (we tried it both ways.) The room is clean, like all the Montereys, and they provide you with pyjamas (so you can cut down on washing!)

Stayed at this hotel for 5 nights. The location is just amazingly good. It took us just 4-5 minutes by a metered taxi from Tokyo station to the hotel and cost 710 Yen. You can book all your Sightseeing tours by gray line tours and board the bus from Mercure Hotel which is adjacent to this hotel practically a 1 minute walk. You also have a convenio store family mart opposite the hotel to pick up eats or drinks or any thing for the room. All around the hotel within 2-5 minutes walk you can find plenty of stores and restaurants etc. Within 5-7 minutes walk you can reach the most amazing Ginza -Itchome street with all the up market shopping you can find as well as on the parallel road running where on your right you will find the Tokyo station and the Yeasu Hotel for Limousine bus transfers to the Airport. The Hotel itself was nice with comfortable rooms though just that little bit small but then we are in Tokyo. The room had all the necessary amenities as Tea Coffee maker, Fridge, Electronic WC in toilets with all the extras you would require in toilets. The reception staff were very friendly and extremely helpful.

Room Tip: We stayed in a twin share as was travelling along with my daughter and the rooms were facing a nice...

Nice hotel, the staff are very courteous. Clean as. Downsides are there is no room service and the breakfast at the hotel is an extra 2300 yen?! Its also in a very expensive part of Tokyo so keep that in mind if you are on a budget. The location is good but since the transport system is so efficient in Tokyo I wouldn't have this as a deciding factor.

We stayed here twice. Three nights when we arrived In Tokyo at the beginning of our holiday and two nights at the end of our two week holiday before we left. Both rooms were small but that is what i would expect in tokyo.

The first room was old and stank of smoke and i would have reviewed the hotel 2 stars. The second room was on a floor that was recently refurbished and fully refurbished and 5 star.

So overal a decent hotel, great location and friendly staff. lots of rooms are smoking in Japan as so many people smoke. i would recommend this hotel but make sure you ask for one of the newer rooms or at least get a non smoking room.
