“A five star experience”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 May 2013

Stayed here a week on business, everything is as advertised, service, rooms, dining, everything was spotless. If possible, request a room facing mt. Fuji, they book faster. Also the neighborhood was very quiet, not much to walk to, aside from imperial palace. If you are looking to be in the center of all the action, stay in Shibuya.

Amazing! It's probably one of the only in this category i'm ok to pay this price. My second time there, and it was as impressive as the first. Stellar breakfast and dinner. Spectacular, complete room. My personal number one, I'm a fan!

I stayed with my family for a week - on holiday and it was a fabulous experience. The rooms and the views are great. Interesting bars and restaurants. Spa is superb. Gym is functional - though not big. Service is wonderful - from the bell desk, to concierge, restaurants, spa - anywhere... you find exemplary customer focus. Truly a great place to stay in Tokyo

Room Tip: The Mandarin suites are great. The higher floors on the west side offer great views of Mount Fuji (o...

One of the most amazing hotels I've stayed at. Amazing rooms, amazing views, top quality service. Not cheap, but absolutely worth it. Nicer than the other Mandarins I have stayed at (HK and Geneva). The only drawback -- and it's a huge drawback -- is the cigarette smoke in the lobby/bar.

Sushi/coffee tips:

Sushi Nihonbashi across the street from the hotel has absolutely fantastic (and quite reasonably priced) sushi.

Omotesando Koffee (in Omotesando) is a must-visit coffee place for coffee lovers - one of the best brews in Tokyo served in a slightly surreal setup.

The location is superb, thanks to Mitsui's total rejuvenation of the new business area. The service is impeccable, which is par for the course for Mandarin properties. The fitout topnotch. The gym, while not huge, is well thought out and equipped to cater to exercise/fitness needs (the complimentary health smoothies should not go untried!).

The F&B in-house faces stiff competition from the greater Ginza area. That said, the jazz bar is a nice scene in the evenings, enjoying good music, ambience, and views of the city from the high floor in the building.

What should be a top priority is to visit the abundant food halls nearby, whether above ground or via underground walkways: Coredo Muromachi (some of the best Tsukemen can be found on the 3rd floor at Tosa no Otoko ga Tsukutta Tonkotsu Ramen Ore-shiki), Mitsukoshi(s), among others. It is a complete foodie feast.

Room Tip: Rooms with western and southern exposure have the best views of the city.

The hotel is not inexpensive, but you get what you pay for. Beautiful, spacious room and luxury bathroom. Location is great for shopping. Great city views at night. The service was wonderful: we came in late the first night and wanted dinner. The informal restaurant was booked, but they were able to make a place for us with minor delay.
