“Ginza Tokyo”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 December 2013

Very good location easily accessible, metro station is only 5 minutes walk from the hotel. The price is reasonable. The room was well kept and cleaned. The room size is small but functioning well, Japanese standard.

I liked the hotel because it was convenient to get to both airports and most of Tokyo. The room was small, but it was nice enough and it wasn't terribly uncomfortable. It was clean, the staff seems nice but I didn't really need them for anything. The free wifi worked very well. There's a small fridge and a teapot in the room. The TV had a few Japanese channels and cnn. There was virtually no noise in my room. The bed was nice and comfy. There's not much of a view from the hotel, I don't think.

There is a convenience store and a noodle joint a block away (westward, actually sw). In the same area, there is a supermarket (Hanamasa) and a toy store (Hakuhinkan). Eastward is the bulk of the Ginza, basically a mess of western brand stores (Tiffany, etc.) and many restaurants. There are many cafes in the area for breakfast (this is not apparent at night as they are all closed). I went to a place called Choco Cro or St Marc Cafe. They have a french toast (in french toast) sandwich that was delicious.

The hotel is fairly easily accessed from Haneda and Narita airports. From Haneda, take the Keikyu line to Shimbashi (no transfers), and it's a short (but not necessarily quick) walk to the hotel. It's slightly tricky to get from the station to the hotel because you have to cross two major roads (where it's not possible to cross at street level at some places). Note that Google directions will give you a slightly different route. For Narita, the airport express / local stops at Ueno on the Ginza line, and you can transfer and ride the metro to Ginza sta., also a short walk to the hotel.

This was my first trip to Tokyo, so I can't really compare this hotel to others. The price was reasonable (100-120 / night in November) and I thought it was a good value. The Ginza area is good, but it really isn't a residential neighborhood, so you don't have a lot of little eateries and shops like you would in other areas.

The hotel Gracery in Ginza is a great value hotel that is 5 mins walk to Ginza metro station - a main metro line that links you easily to Roppingi, Shibuya, Shinkjuku and Asukusa. The hotel rooms are smart and small (but that's Japan) and not all staff have strong English, but they are very helpful.

The location is still the best but sadly, the service is downgrading. The receiptionist wasn't allowed to make restaurant reservations for the guests, I mean is that really the rule?
Hopefully, the rule will get better next time.

The Gracery is conveniently located close to both Ginza and Shinbashi metro stations with the shops an easy walk away. It can be tricky to find on your first go as it's located on the 3rd floor, but once inside the staff are friendly, the rooms clean and adequately sized (I was in a twin for two nights). We had a slightly weathered massage chair in our room which had seen better days but nonetheless it was good fun!
