Awesome little hotel! The location is within walking distance of two railway stations, both about 10mins walk away while Shibuya is about 20mins walk. The hotel offers free breakfast which is quite basic while the free dinner (on selected nights 5 times a week) is quite a bit better with miso soup, rice and various small servings of local delicacies (limited to three per meal). You can also get a bowl of udon noodles though you need to ask the chef to cook it up for you. Next door is a large supermarket that also has a wide range of department store goods. Rooms are huge for Tokyo standards which include a hot water dispenser, stovetop and decent bathroom (with obligatory high tech toilet). Staff are friendly but you need to clean your room yourself which includes emptying your bin (no big deal I guess). There's also free washing machines and microwave oven on the second floor while you need to pay 100Y for the clothes dryer for half an hour. Didn't try the public bath/spa. I paid about 5500Y a night and that represents fantastic value.
A little bit about the area - Nakameguro is a trendy little suburb with a narrow river running behind the main street with cafe's, restaurants and designer shops lining the river. There's cherry blossom trees all along the river which makes for a spectacular sight when the sakura are blooming.

The hotel is 20 min walk from Shibuya where alot of things happen. It's great because you can go clubbing and don;t have to catch a cab or hurry for the last train, you can just walk back. It had a breakfastand the dinner, but it is included in the price so can't complain too much. There is the posibility of renting their 2 bycicles for free. There is free wi-fi in the lobby and an internet cable available in your room.

Room is fantastic. I stayed in the semi-double room and found the room spacious as in Japanese standard. The room is clean and well equipped with own toilet, shower/bath tub (too small for bath though), toiletries, hot water pot, cooker, basin, mini fridge, wardrobe, towels, cloth dryer, hair dryer, TV, desk, bins, all in the room. Internet access through cable LAN is free in the room. Wifi is free at lobby and there is one PC at the lobby for guest use. There is a laundry room on 2nd floor where there is vending machine, washing machine (free to use), microwave oven (free to use), tumble dry (fee paying). The microwave oven on 2nd floor is useful if you buy packed meals and bring back to hotel. There is a common bath for guys at ground (they call it first) floor.

Meals are minimal. The light breakfast is the same everyday with some bread, salads, yogurt, cold water, cold milk and coffee. Rather minimal, however if you are ok with bread, it is sufficient (to save money). The light dinner is the same everyday with rice, 3 Japanese dishes (small dish and cold), cold water and la-mee (hot noodle soup). The la-mee need to be requested from the reception or you won't find it. I wasn't aware of it the first time I took the dinner. If you are taking the dinner, you need to request for the la-mee or you don't find it. I think there is a cut-off time for the request, but I had different experiences on two occasions. The dinner is minimal, again it depends on your personal dinning preference. With the breakfast, dinner and great room, the price is reasonable in Japan standard.

Service is fine. Staff are ok and helpful when you ask for help. One of them speak some English, while the other two speak minimal English. It wasn't a problem to communicate with them in English. You won't expect the type of smile, greetings and bowing, which are common in some places in Japan; however, this culture is getting less in Tokyo. There is no room clean up if you stay less than a week. You get a complementary room clean up (replace bed sheets, trash bags, etc) once in a week. The cleaners are friendly.

Location is great. It is about 10 mins walk to the Naka-Meguro station. There are shops, restaurants, stores along the street towards the station; this makes the walk a relaxing one. The route is level, i.e. not uphill or downhill. From Naka-Meguro station, you can connect to Shibuya and few other major stations. A large departmental store is just 1-2 minutes walk from the hotel.

There are bikes for rent (free) from the hotel! The lobby has never been crowded even the hotel was full; that's great! I booked the room online and extended my stay when I am there. The rate from the hotel is better than the online rate.

Location: The neighborhood is very unique, got a lot of flavor. It would best be described as eclectic, a touch international. I especially like that the Weekly Dormy is a short walk away from a Hibiya subway station, a great place to start your journeys. Also, it’s actually in Tokyo, a few stops away from the Roppongi district. Very convenient. There’s a river nearby with a scenic bridge. Compared to great rivers in the world, it’s not that impressive. But compared to other small rivers in Tokyo, it’s nice.

Sauna / Spa: A great way to start your day or relax after your travels as well as a unique Japan experience. It’s not larger than other facilities at similar hotels. It’s very clean and inviting. There’s a massage chair, a few bathing stations, a sauna, a hot-pool and a cool-pool.

Rooms: In my opinion, they are larger than the others in this price-range. The rooms (not sure if all) have a cooker and a fridge so you can prepare a small meal there. I was surprised that there's actually room to put your luggage and personal items, something I've found lacking in other hotels.

Staff: Friendly and knowledgeable. They keep a lot of English Language info on hand and keep very large subway and train maps at the entrance, a good way to confirm a route at your departure and get your bearings when you arrive.

* In conclusion, I recommend this hotel to friends and family. It’s not quite as frilly as Tokyo’s cookie-cutter type hotels, but makes up for it with English Language friendliness, easily accessible information, cleanliness, and location.

We were disappointed with our stay here - it was a little too far out of the way, the room was cramped and smelly, and the onsen (baths) were small and not very impressive. The staff were friendly, and nice about storing our bags however, and the breakfast, free tea, and free sapporo beer were a good - but overall it wasn't worth it. We switched to a Villa Fontaine hotel closer to the center, which was much less expensive, still offered breakfast, and had better rooms.
