“Fantastic way to see Tokyo”
Reviewed 4 June 2012

Thanks to reviews on tripadvisor I booked this for 2 of us to do and it was great. Neil is very relaxed and has great knowledge about Tokyo. it really is stress-free way to get around the city, traffic is considerate of cyclists!! It's a 4 hour tour but we ran konger and honestly saw more in half a day than we would have trying to get around on our own for a few days. Do this early in your Tokyo stay to give you a sense of what you might want to re-visit.

“Excellent tour and overview of Tokyo”
Reviewed 3 June 2012

For our first day in Tokyo we pre-booked a cycling tour with Neil (the six hour tour including the additional imperial palace loop) and it was a great way to get to know a lot of the different areas of Tokyo and receive some good hints and tips on what else to do or come back and explore in more detail for the remaining days.

Neil was a great guide. He had a good likeable manner and was happy to answer questions posed.

Would recommend as a great way to start a city break in Tokyo.

“A must do in Tokyo!!!”
Reviewed 31 May 2012

I did the Central Tokyo Ride that is scheduled for 4 hours. Don’t be surprised if it runs longer, especially since Neil, the guide is very thorough and generous with the stops along the way. The office is very easy to get to from the Naka Meguro metro stop along the Silver/Hibiya line. Just make a right out of the main entrance and follow the street a few blocks until you see the Kennedy Restaurant. There are plenty of signs directing to the bike rental office. The day I went the weather was picture perfect, and the tour was just the right size with 5 guys plus Neil. I was pleased to find out the 4 person discount applies if there are 4 people and not specifically a party of 4 as I had originally thought.
The ride begins in Meguro, a residential area and goes along the Meguro River and makes its way up to Shibuya, a busy youthful area of Tokyo. We had a small break there to visit the Hachiko Statue and intersection, as well as time to get a snack and drink. Afterwards we made a visit to Yoyogi Park and visited the Meiji Jingu Shrine. The visit to the shrine requires parking the bikes and taking a bit of a walk. Neil gives a lot of historical information about the shrine, Tokyo in general and a bit about the Imperial Family in Japan. He is a great source of knowledge of all things Tokyo, and gives an interesting perspective from an expat point of view. Also he is a native English speaker so no communication issues if you speak English... After the shrine the ride goes to Harajuku for a 20 or so minute lunch/snack break. Be sure to check out Marion Crêpes! Neil also makes a stop at the batting cages for a taste of the Japanese national past time. I am the furthest thing from a baseball player, but still had a good time. The trip wraps up with a trip through Aoyama cemetery and Roppongi Hills on the way back to the office.
The biking is fairly easy and not difficult riding in Tokyo traffic. Lots of residential riding or in pedestrian areas so cars aren’t much of a bother. There is a sizeable hill at the beginning of the ride. Everyone in my group made it up, but you can walk if it is too much. Other than that, pretty easy flat terrain. I would definitely do this tour again or the 6 hour one that goes to the imperial palace. Try to do it when you first arrive in Tokyo if possible, as it will give a great overview of the city, and help you get your bearings. Thanks for the great bike ride Neil!

“A Really Good Bicycle Tour”
Reviewed 10 May 2012

Plan better than we did to get there on time because its further away than it looks on the metro map but even though we arrived late Niel came back to fetch us and we're very glad he did.

The ride covers a lot of the highlights of Tokyo and gives you a good insight into the city for a very good price.

“Best way to visit a city”
Reviewed 7 May 2012

Neil was a very accommodating guide who looked after our family of four and made the day very enjoyable and interesting. The ride was quite easy to do with lots of breaks, and we are of very average fitness with youngest child autistic - 12 years old, able to cope (except for batting practice). Great to talk to a foreigner living in Japan for inside information as well.
