We booked this hotel on points and for some reason were upgraded to the Imperial Suite on the 21st floor. This is the nicest suite in the hotel and is quite impressive. So our experience may not be typical. But the hotel is very nice throughout, including the common areas. The service is excellent. There are several restaurants, though most are quite expensive. As an alternative, the concierge lounge on the 17th floor has a pretty good breakfast. It is open all day, so you can grab some drinks or munchies in the afternoon and the appetizer bar in the evening is pretty good too. Alcohol is free and unlimited, but it served only from 5:30 - 7:30. Lounge access also allows you to drink for free at the lobby bar or the bar on the 22nd floor, but only during these hours. This hotel caters to weddings, so you are likely to have some wedding parties about. There is a shopping area with a few restaurants across the street, but other than that, there is nothing much in walking distance. It's a short train ride to Shibuya. The Ebisu station is a 5-10 minute walk. Taxis are also available 24/7 at the hotel. It's a quiet area at night, good for sleeping. Treat yourself to this hotel--it's a bargain at this price in Tokyo.

We arrived at The Westin at the start of our 2 week trip around Japan. Our room wasn’t ready when we arrived at 0900 but they kindly gave us a different room to rest in whilst ours was made up. The location was excellent in the quieter but central Ebisu region of Tokyo. I thoroughly recommend this hotel. We loved it.

Having never been to Tokyo, when mapping the hotel's location I was a bit concerned. However, I should not have been. Access to the hotel via the JR Rail Line as well as the Tokyo Subway is just a brief stroll through Yebisu Garden Place and a short walk/ride on a covered moving sidewalk.

We followed the hotel's recommendation to take the Friendly Bus from Narita airport and it was an excellent suggestion which delivered us and our luggage to the hotel's front door.

The hotel itself is beautiful, with a magnificent lobby area and fresh flowers throughout. Our room (1618) had a lovely view over the city and was large and inviting with a very comfortable bed.

As Titanium members we had access to the Concierge Lounge, as well as flexibility on where to have our daily breakfast -- our favorite being the excellent dining room on the lobby level (our other options being the French restaurant on the top floor, the Concierge Lounge or on weekends, the traditional Japanese restaurant).

If there is any room for improvement in the hotel and its service, it might be in the Concierge Lounge which can get a bit hectic, and food replaced very slowly, when the lounge gets very busy.

Oh, and weather permitting, do take a leisurely stroll through the hotel's garden.

This area, Ebisu, is a nice area to stay in. It’s quiet but still accessible to the major neighborhoods of Tokyo (it’s one train stop or 10 minute cab ride from Shibuya).

The accommodations are lovely, and what you would expect from a Westin in any major city. The international breakfast buffet is very good and the club lounge has a wide selection. The Compass Rose bar has good views of the city but is smoky. Staff are friendly and accommodating. Easy to get a taxi from here. Would definitely stay here again.

If you're looking for action, look elsewhere like Shibuya, Roppongi, or Akihabara.

But if you're looking for a tranquil place that isn't in a crowded part of town, then this is the place for you.

You can spend some time across the street at the Ebisu Garden place, spend money at Mitsukoshi department store, or just relax in the tranquil garden. If you want to go where the action is, you'll have to take the 10 minute walk through covered walkways to the Yebisu station to find something more lively.
