Tokyo is an huge city with a lot of fun nightlife choices, but knowing where anything is and finding a fun and safe group of people to go with can be a little scary for travelers and residents alike.

An organized group call Tokyo Pub Crawl (bar hopping) can take care of all the planning and guess work for you. Whether you’re looking to have a night out with you friends or meet new people, all you have to do is show up and have fun!

Hosted by two friendly individuals and supporting staff. Each bar you go to you get a free mild shot. Drinks are discounted off the normal Roppongi Prices. Good pacing from bar to bar, you don't stay in one location too long, and changing bars gives you an opportunity meet and interact with people you missed in the previous bar.

As the night goes on the each bar gets less bar-like and more club-like. Which is good pacing, because by the third bar you feel more loose and comfortable and shake it a bit because of the new friends and alcohol. The final fourth bar is just crazy and feels like your dancing with 50 of your closest friends.

Whilst we walked through Roppongi on a number of occasions during our visit, I was very very glad we weren't staying there. It is extremely busy and full of people standing on street corners trying to lure you into their shops or restaurants.
Many of the prices seem ridiculously high for meals and drinks, so if you are looking to have a cheaper holiday then I wouldn't recommend spending too much time around here.
Nice to visit but not to stay.

Maybe because I live and work in Roppongi, right on the strip, I am jaded. For me it's just noise and drunken stupidity. You have to mentally train yourself to ignore all the hawkers trying to drag you into their clubs with the ever so catchy phrase "hey man, hey man, t*tties man." Avoid Roppongi - go someplace else - unless you really dig drunken sailors, whether they are or are not sailors along with all the 'fun' things that accompany that type of area. (I'm focused particularly on the area immediately surrounding Roppongi crossing - other parts aren't *as* bad)

Roppongi is one of the most representative spots for tourists while in Tokyo, usually the part of the city where foreigners are well received as there are a lot of them in this area. Easy accessible by subway you can find all assortment of attractions, bar, discos, Karaoke, restaurants, and you won't find many trouble with the language, as everything (that I saw) is written in English as well. My only advice is to try to stay away from the guys, usually foreigners from Africa or middle East that are pushing tourists and handing them off cards in the main street offering you to enter the hostess bars, which is nothing else than a bar where you will be in company of a pretty girl, so you won't be drinking alone, nevertheless, expect to receive a check with every single minute of it included, and as everything in Tokyo, will not be cheap. (I never went inside, this last part of info. was provided to me by a Tokyo native resident). If for some reason you missed the last train, there are bars that remain open the whole night, but you will need to have a drink in hand at all times (it is notified in a sign at the door)
