“Baker Bounce...? Skip it!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 June 2013

Place is way overrated. Saw this in a top 20 list of burger restaurants in Tokyo, so had to try it with some other ex-pat friends. I actually didn't order a burger but tried a quarter of the bacon cheese burger. It was ok. I actually ordered the beef brisket sandwich, since I never see it in Japan and was hoping it would be halfway decent. It was a major disappointment. It was dried out and tasteless, so I had to request BBQ sauce (which was bland tasting). Also their so-called "home fries" was just their usual french fries (skin on fried potato wedges). Definitely less than expected, and nothing to write home about either. Their "home-made" ketchup is pretty much "tinny" pureed tomatoes from a can with some sugar added. It definitely would not be consudered ketchup in my book. Although the chicken fingers was ok, I doubt I'll be back. Shame. It's just another wannabe "American" style diner, run by people who really don't know about real American taste, but think advertising as an "American diner" that serves food with "real American taste" is good enough. What does Baker Bounce mean anyways? Also, not food related, but the waiter (some "foreigner-looking" guy) took our orders one by one, but somehow messed up our drink orders and also didn't get 2 out of 3 of our actual meal orders, so two of us had to wait quite a while after one meal was served. That was a first of many disappointments. There definitely are better places to eat in the area than here. Harsh review, but definitely was not hitting the standard levels on most accounts in my book.

“Decent Burger with OK Sides”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 April 2013 via mobile

This was recommended by a friend, so we tried it out for lunch. Lunch burger sets start at ¥950; we paid ¥1050 for a bacon cheeseburger with sides of 4 home style fries, slaw, and a soda. The burger was tasty, but not quite "real American flavor," as bragged on the restaurant wall: the condiments included egg salad and a house-made ketchup that tasted a little off (like mostly tomato paste). Overall, decent flavor at a decent price (by Tokyo standards), but there are better burgers in the Akasaka and Roppongi areas of Tokyo.

“Hamburger "Set"”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 January 2012

I bought the 997 yen (US$12.75) hamburger set. This included a a large glass of Coke Zero, a small cole slaw, a three-ounce very chewy hambuger (with too much mayonaise) and four french fries. The food was OK, but not excellent.
