“Very helpful staff with small but efficient rooms”

Tucked away down a little street, the hotel is positioned with dozens of eating places within a 10 minute walk. These range from Japanese, Chinese Italian, Spanish, Nepalese and Indian. Many tourist places within walking distance such as the Tokyo Tower, just like Paris's Eiffel Tower but red and white stripes.
Staff were really nice and helpful. Rooms are very clean. They are small but this is Tokyo! Baths are not long enough to lie in, only to sit. All the

Not much different from any other business hotel. The staff are very helpful and try hard. However, this is the very first time I have been charged "by the hour" to check-in earlier than the advertised 3 PM. A 12:30 PM check in cost me and extra JPY 2000 but, I paid that willingly to gain access to a room and avoid having to spend "lobby time". The distance from the Shinbashi station is offset by the fact that this is a much quieter area. However, make sure you note close- by landmarks from both hotel front and rear entrances as things look markedly different during the night! Check-in was otherwise efficient, the rooms clean, the wired LAN is good.

Its a good hotel, but make sure to get directions from Shimbashi station. The rooms are small but clean. They do have a restaurant on the ground floor.
The hotel is a 10-min walk from Shimbashi station, with loads of restaurants around the station area.

We stayed at APA because it was so economical and still very close to the city center (Ginza). Rooms were clean, nice and thick curtains, wifi worked great.

A short walk to Shinbashi Station which is only 1 stop away from Tokyo Station. Plenty of little restaurants to choose from. Staff were really helpful and happy for us to leave our bags with them before and after we'd checked in.

Would definitely recommend.

Rooms are what you'd expect from a business hotel in Tokyo, a very tight fit and minimalist but functional. I could have done without the flat screen TV that took up half the desk, especially since there were no international channels available. There is an empty fridge to keep snacks and an electric kettle/thermos seemed big for the room, particularly given the single green tea bag provided. The mattress was unusually soft for Asia.

Its location is convenient, as nearby Shimbashi Station is a direct shot on the train from Narita (allow a good 90 minutes for the journey though, plus waiting time for the train). The hotel is less than a five-minute walk from the Karasumori exit of the station (turn left following the train tracks until you get to the next to the last street before the main road, then turn right) and is also surrounded by other subway stops on various lines. The immediate vicinity is quiet though there are several Family Marts and similar corner shops very nearby. The neighborhood also offers a selection of restaurants. I had lunch at the sushi bar (immediately to the left of the main entrance) and found my chirashi tasty. The hotel's own restaurant offers an early evening food and drink deal (two snack-sized plates and two drinks) for Y800.

I booked this hotel on Agoda and the price compared favorably with similar properties. However, you should note that Agoda's claim of in-room wifi – the detail that sold me on the hotel as I had work to do on this trip - is incorrect. They only offer wired LAN connections in room, and wifi on the ground floor (there are only two armchairs in the small reception area).

This hotel caters almost exclusively to Japanese clients so just about everything (instructions for video on demand, phone calls, the internet, the menu of the hotel restaurant, the hotel's business cards, the coin operated washing machine) seems to be posted only in Japanese. Front desk staff I spoke to were shy about their English but were helpful and answered my questions when they could, which was not all of the time. With housekeeping and the restaurant, communication was minimal. Finally, as of this writing the hotel is not even on the APA English website, another sign that they are not seeking international trade.

This corner of Shinbashi is certainly not touristy, but if you're looking for comfortable and clean rather than boutique-y and luxurious, you could do worse in Tokyo.
