“Wise choice!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 May 2014 via mobile

Went to Tokyo for exhibit at Big sight. Intercon was a wise choice! Nr to exhibit and with easy access to more interesting
places like Shibuya, Ginza. Rooms are so comfortable. Wifi super fast. The Italian resto is nice, too! Only negative is the
relatively expensive bfasr

Commercial area near train station.

Getting to Hotel from Airport:
From Narita limo bus to airport is not very frequent. Took limo bus to TCAT 3000yen then taxi to hotel 2200yen.

Short wait. Had to make sure I was getting a non-smoking room as booked. As a platinum I was given a high-floor upgraded corner room but no lounge access as I usually at other IHG hotels.

Smelled very clean.
Large sized.
Not close to elevators.

It's an Intercontinental so you know it will be a well appointed, high-end hotel. The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable and include many of the amenities travelers need and expect. It does come at a cost though and there are cheaper options in the area that are also very nice. The views are wonderful, but the location is not ideal if you want to walk to a restaurant at night. Having said that, if you are headed over for a show at Big Sight, this is a great option. The monorail station is one block away and will get you to Big Sight in 20 minutes. the monorail is also a great way to see some of the city. One complaint...staying on an executive floor gets you free wifi, but does not get you into the Club Lounge.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view of the Bay Bridge.

Rooms: Unbeatable view, but the rooms need refurbishing -very dated design, especially in the bathroom. Spacious enough.

Service: The hotel is huge, and regularly has events, so it gets crowded. Service fluctuates, and generally doesn't have much of a personal touch -although on the whole it's still good.

Location: A problem if you're not planning to take taxis. The nearest station, Takeshiba, requires several transfers before you can get to places of interest in the city (Ginza, Shibuya, etc.) because it's part of a new (Odakyu) line that is not very connected with the rest of the Metro/JR lines. There is a free shuttle bus provided to Hamamatsuo Station, which is much better connected to the main city stations, but that's still a bit of a hassle.

I recently stayed here for four nights and would certainly recommend it to anyone coming to Tokyo. The room was spacious and the bathroom was huge with everything you could possibly need; shampoos and conditioners, bathrobes, slippers, razors etc. Great views and the staff couldn't have been more polite and friendlier.

Although it may not appear to be a central location, Takeshiba station is a 30 second walk away. This takes you to Shiodome and Shimbasi (2 stops) which connect you to all other lines for the major tourist attractions in Tokyo. The other way from Takeshiba will take you toward Odaiba where you can find lots of shops and restaurants. I found that a Suica card is the most practical way of getting round, like a London's Oyster card.

The hotel can be easily reached by using public transport; we took the Narita Express to Tokyo station and then took a taxi to the hotel as we were fairly tired, this was about £15. On the way back to Narita airport we took the airport limo bus which collected us from the hotel, this took about an hour and was £17 give or take

Stayed 6 nites.

Great location for all rail services. Great location for many and numerous local restaurants.

Easy access to and from Narita airport. Green Tomato were outstanding shared limo providers.Easy to book and easy to communicate with.

The western menu for Room service is not a feature .but you don't go to Tokyo to eat club sandwiches and hamburgers. Not your typical western breakfast buffet. Not quite up to the standard of ANA intercontinental room service or breakfast.

Outstanding pastry shop in lobby. Amazing rstaurants and bars.......5 star restaurants and bars. A lot of money has been spent on the food and beverage areas.

Housekeeping were outstanding.

Doorman and concierge are very very helpfull.

Rooms were of a good standard.

Great sleep and great views.

Had a earthquake in the middle of the night........pretty normal I was told in the morning.

Room Tip: If you want to access your room prior to check in or at 0800 in the morning. Pay for the night befor...

As part of our 2 weeks trip in Japan in April, we ended up in the Intercontinental Tokyo Bay.
This was our first visit to Tokyo and the International Tokyo Bay turned out to be a great base from which to explore the city. The station being just a few steps from the hotel lobby made getting around very easy once we had mastered the rail network map and ticketing options.
There was a free shuttle to the nearest JR, monorail and bus station. There are restaurants and bars within about 10 minutes’ walk. A lovely temple and the Tokyo Tower is also a 15 minute walk away. You can catch the ferry to Asakusa from right next door and walk to the fish market and Hama Rikyu Gardens.
. The communal areas are tastefully decorated and the view is incredible. The rooms are very comfortable. Large comfy beds, a fridge, good living space and effective black-out curtains helped make our stay very comfortable. The bathroom was all shiny glass and marble with lots of fluffy towels, slippers and robes. There were plenty of delicious products, generously replenished each day. The television sound is wired in, so you can listen to the news in the bath.. Excellent way to make coffee with a packet that fit over the cup, pour hot water into the packet, not bad coffee!
The only drawback is the check-in Time at 4pm , too late.
Normally hotel is 2pm but Intercontinental Tokyo Bay set it to 4pm. We arrived at the Intercontinental reasonably early in the morning after a 12 hours flight from London. Our hope to have an earlier check-in was destroyed in few minutes. They keep us to wait til 4 pm when the room was ready.
No alternative were suggested no even the use of the gym to have a quick shower.!!!
