“Excellent business hotel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 September 2014

I've stayed here several times on business over the last couple of years and have nothing but positive experiences. The staff, location (right next to Shinagawa Station), cleanliness and room quality are all excellent.

This hotel is frankly a bargain. The staff are fantastic. Its actually quite small occupying only a few floors of a very tall building. This makes it a bit more intimate.

Lovely bar in the atrium. The rooms are lovely too. Standard Interconti style with a few Japanese touches.

The hotel is linked to Shinangawa station so you can take the Shinkansen (bullet train) directly. It also has a direct rail link with Haneda Airport so its very convenient.

Really no bad points. A great choice in Tokyo.

Room Tip: Try and get a west facing room for those rare days in Tokyo when you can see Fuji

Great Hotel all round. Great value for the money, everything about this hotel is great, nothing I could find thats wrong with it.
Get the larger room instead of standard, the bathroom is quite compact for hotels this class but hey thats Tokyo... the view of the city side rooms were amazing, a bit like the scenes in 'Lost in Translation'. And also there weren't much noticeable noise from the train station as its on 30th floor.

Room Tip: Get the larger room instead of the standard room, the view of city-side rooms are great, a bit like...

I traveled here on business and selected it primarily due to its proximity to my business meetings. I spent three nights here in late August and I enjoyed it. It is an excellent hotel. As most reviews already note, the rooms are bit bigger than you'd expect in Tokyo/Japan. Very comfortable size, elegant, and super clean. I had a King Size bed so that may give a little more room than one with 2 beds. My only recommendations are minor and probably not unusual for Japan: 1) The room could use more drawers for clothing. From what I can see, it is not a size issue, there is plenty of room to add some drawers; and 2) The TV channels. I travel in Asia a lot and this is the first time in a while that the selection was so poor for English. CNN had Japanese voice-over so you couldn't hear the newscaster. Most people certainly don't come here to watch TV, but when alone on business, it gets a little boring and its good to watch the news, etc.

Not only is the hotel an excellent place to stay just due to its quality, the location is outstanding. The hotel is connected via a walkway to the Shinagawa train station. That is one of the bigger one's in the Tokyo area and you can get anywhere you want from this train station, including using the Shinkansen (bullet train). When I get a chance to come back with my wife and family for vacation, I will likely come right back here because it is a perfect location. The area around the hotel has lots of things to do and has plenty of good restaurants, bars, and shops.

I've stayed in many different locations in Asia and this hotel is one of the top on the list. I highly recommend it for business or vacation, with or without your family.

Very nice 4 star hotel with mostly business travellers. Bright, clean and new, with nice new rooms, also with a very good concierge service that we used to make a restaurant reservation, and a terrific buffet breakfast that was good value for Tokyo hotels of this class (2600 yen p.p.)

Very convenient spot, only a 3 minute walk from Shinagawa station. If you are flying in/out of Haneda and/or taking the Shinkansen, you cannot beat this location. Don’t let the fact that there is no Metro stop at Shinagawa fool you. Almost everything in Tokyo is reachable via the JR Yamanote line directly (even if it isn't, it's a quick connect at multiple stations)

Walking from the hotel into the station against the flow of morning rush hour is an unbelievable and interesting experience. Crazier than Shibuya Crossing! Hard to “ford the current” if you have bags!

A lovely hotel with good beds and pillows, plenty of space very quiet, excellent blockout curtains, very clean even though we never saw the cleaners. The staff speak English and are extremely helpful. It is a little difficult to find the right lift for reception which is on the 26th floor. If arriving by the Narita Express train get off at Shinagawa station, follow the signs at the station to the east exit Konan. Once outside turn right and follow the elevated walkway to the East One Tower building, go into this building's foyer and look out for the Strings hotel sign on the left- hand side of the wall in front of you. follow further signs to the elevator at the end of this building Travel up to the 26th floor for reception. If you arrive on the Limousine bus from the Airport you need to turn right as you step off the bus and ahead of you on the left is the first Strings hotel sign, also enter the East one Tower building[ground floor]and look for the next sign on the left-hand side of the wall ahead of you, follow further signs. At the other end of the building you will find the elevator for reception, select level 26.

This hotel is right next to Shinagawa station on the upper floors of an office building. The location is great, the interior well designed and spacious and the rooms modern.

I really enjoyed a weekend here. The staff were excellent and the hotel top notch!
