“Great location”
Reviewed 19 August 2014

A good hotel at a reasonable price, and located close to the enormous Shinagawa station. The views from higher rooms are impressive, and the facilities good. Staff are courteous and very helpful with travel suggestions and restaurant recommendations.

Room Tip: Higher rooms have great views

There are 2 towers in the Hotel Complex, the tower towards the back is a "business tower", rooms are much smaller, however they are comfortable and have free wifi, location is awesome with being across the road from the Shingawa Station and the Air Bus from the airport will drop you right at the front door of the hotel. Great Value for money

Room Tip: as for a non smoking room

Did not know there were 2 different towers. Tower 1 is newer than Tower 2, rooms are of normal size and it faced the main street. Tower 2 is in the back, room was TINY, barely had room for a luggage each. Tiny single beds were arranged in L shape so there was a tiny bit of room for luggage. Bathroom was REALLY TINY but very clean and odorless. Toilet bowl was heated and very clean. Hotel was across from train station and there was a huge shopping mall on the train station side. There was a money changer before the entrance of the train station. The ticketing office at the station had one English speaking personnel so it was great. Hotel also adjoining this amusement building that had life sea lion shows. If you present your hotel key, you get a discounted entrance charge. Hotel reception was not helpful at all. They will not help with anything. Not sure if they even understood anything. They were busy with their own thing and ignored everyone else. I booked a tour and I had to walk over to the reception at Tower 1. I almost missed my tour bus. The buffet breakfast was very pricey and not very good. There was a McDonald's close by to the back of the hotel, walking distance about 10 minutes. Breakfast there is 100 times better. Traffic was horrendous but it was expectable. Thought of taking the train to the airport but was told airport trains were never on time. The hotel bus to the airport took 2 hours.

Right opposite Shinagawa station with direct access to the Yamanote and other metro lines. So extremely convenient. I also liked their Green Cleaning room option, with money offered for shops in the complex. Who really needs their sheets and room serviced daily? Rooms are small but good enough for a short stay, plenty of local restaurants and shops in the Shinagawa complex. Room very very quiet.......no real noise at all. Perfect.

Great location, easy to get to anywhere in the city from Shinagawa Station just across the street. Took the Narita Express from the airport to the station and walked over to the hotel. Lots of things to do around the hotel. Shopping, Bowling Alley(2 floors) an Aquarium and lots of places to eat.

Keep in mind that there are different towers/annexes for the Shinagawa Prince. I stayed in the North Tower during a 5-day visit to Tokyo. The room was typical for a business hotel in Tokyo, meaning big enough for your bed, desk, and bathroom, with a little room for walking.

The hotel is a 5-minute walk to the JR Shinagawa Station, making it very convenient for tourists centered in Tokyo. The station is also a Shinkansen base, so it also makes the hotel a convenient departure point for travelers going elsewhere in Japan. There is also a nice selection of restaurants in and around the hotel with a 7/11 right outside the front door.

Containing the most inexpensive rooms, the North Annex features little else but rooms. Meals are not included, and laundry is unavailable to guests at that part of the hotel. The hotel does have a shuttle to Narita and Haneda airports, but it is more expensive than taking the Narita Express train from the station, if your luggage isn't a hindrance.

I'd recommend it if you are looking for a good deal on accommodations and a convenient place to stay while in Tokyo. If you are looking for more comfort in a room, try the other towers in the hotel.

Room Tip: Investigate the different annexes and towers before choosing a room.

Room size ok by Japanese standards though its still small by international standards. Clean and basic rooms but comfortable enough.

Super convenient and many nice restaurants and eateries nearby to cater to every whim and fancy.

Epson Aquarium there has world class dolphin show at very reasonable price and its a HUGE HUGE pity if one does not visit whilst staying in hotel.

S'pore Seafood Republic is stone throw away and always wanted to try but always fail to get reservation on the day itself.

Shopping is great and they have small shops opposite the hotel and its surroundings that offer clothes with fashionable designs at very reasonable prices. Clothes at the main departmental stores are pretty unaffordable unless you got pretty deep pockets and quaint little shops like these and at the subways are cheaper and offer value for money.

In Japan, it is very rare to find a hotel so near a main subway line and this one fits the bill. I have stayed here numerous times whenever I am in Tokyo for the reason that it is accessible to everywhere and I do not like to walk too far to get to the subway. Its surroundings is not so super busy and mind boggling unlike places like Ikebukuro but still accessible and convenient enough.
