A nice comfortable City hotel. Maybe a bit business orientated but we liked it. Rooms are big enough to spread your bags out in and beds comfortable. Bathrooms have all the usual Japanese innovations. Guest lounge and outdoor area on the 14th floor is a nice touch. Only down side is you are at the end of the shuttle bus circuit. This can give you a free tour of Tokyo if you don't mind spending a couple of hours on the bus getting to Narita airport. City Transport is handy and plenty of good budget eating choices are nearby.

Celestine, Minato, is perhaps not the first hotel you think of for a stay in Tokyo, if you are not here for business. BUT, if you, like myself and my hubby appreciate easy access from the "provinces"(train stations), hotel pickup by tour-buses and airport limousine drop-off, then this place might be the one for you. No glizz and glam in the neighborhood around here, but we did find some nice, local food joints.
The hotel is quite " A Okej", as far as I am concerned.

Room Tip: The smaller rooms have a view, we chose a super large room, with a building in front of us... The h...

We stayed twice in this hotel in our trip to Japan. The big bonus for us, was that the shuttle bus to and from the airport delivers you right in the hotel! We are a big luggages travelers, so the bus was very handy for us, since our 4 luggages would not fit in a taxi!

The location was ok, not in the middle of the city buzz, but with 2 stations within walking distance(2 to 5 min walking). Also, they have a good 24hs restaurant, 7eleven, Family Mart nearby! Quiet neighborhood!

Rooms are not big, but clean, comfort bed, pillows and the air condition / heater worked perfectly! Free wi-fi.
Bathroom was also clean, with shower curtain ( I prefer glass door shower), and all amenities you need!
Breakfast was around $15, and you can have Japanese or western options. Well served!
Lounge on 14th floor was very cosy with a welcome coffee, water and biscuits!

Staff speaks English and always ready to help!

Room Tip: Ask for rooms close to the elevator, they have long corridors!

Hotel's location was very good, with excellent transport links (up to three stations within walking distance). I was given a room on a high floor with quite good views. Admittedly, the room was on the small size but then again most Japanese hotel rooms are! However it was very clean - always a good thing!
Another positive the buffet breakfast which was quite adequate and the very professional front desk staff. All in all I would recommend Celestine Hotel as a wise choice for a mid-priced hotel in Tokyo - it certainly 'does what it says on the tin'!

Stayed 2 nights on business and found the Celestine to be a great choice in the area. Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. The location at Mito station provides easy access and multiple options for shopping and dining. Rooms are rather small, but OK with local standards and very clean. Breakfast is fine providing a variety of japanese and western options. Good value.

My fiance and I loved the location. We prefer a quiet home base to return to, an easy way to get there (2 subway stations nearby), and a smattering of liveliness within walking distance (Tokyo tower and a "restaurant row" within a couple of street blocks).

Once inside the hotel, you will immediately see the hotel is modern, updated and impeccably clean. Perhaps it wasn't the right time of the year (Octobor), but we didn't come across any kids in the hotel -- the clientele seemed primarily to consist of businessmen and some tourists. This is a big plus for those who appreciate tranquility, as we do.

The hotel rooms, while small (but not by Tokyo standards), are clean and updated. We didn't see faded carpets or dinged up furniture that you sometimes get in older, bigger hotels that rely on their brand recognition. The AC/thermostat was modern (giving you the ability to set the temperature once and forget about it), and the hotel includes fast wifi on the premises.

The front desk reception / concierge staff was very helpful with excellent English skills and they helped us with all sorts of requests, from locating a laundromat to finding a good shabu shabu restaurant. The one service oddity we experienced was when we asked for help finding something to eat late our first night in, the front desk staff didn't tell us there was a street consisting of probably 30-50 restaurants just a couple of blocks away and instead directed us to a place about 20 minutes away with only 3-5 choices (mostly izakaya with terrible food).. we had to discover the restaurant area on our own a couple of days later.

The gem of our stay which we really enjoyed was the hotel lounge, which I believe is on the 14th floor. It consists of a beautiful and large "living room" like the kind you might expect in a boutique ski resort -- this was the perfect place to bring a newspaper or laptop and catch up on email or read the daily news. They have a nice coffee machine there that makes good cappuccino/expresso (free). Immediately outside this lounge was a large outdoor patio area that I found to be ideal for smoking my cigars and getting in the vacation mood.

In all, we enjoyed the hotel's cleanliness, excellent service, convenient and safe location, and the surprisingly enjoyable lounge. I highly recommend this hotel and would stay here again in a heartbeat!
