I just got back from Tokyo and stayed at the Easton Hotel for ten days. It was a great experience. It's a small (about 90 rooms) hotel, less than a block from the subway and in a very nice and safe area. The staff was very nice and accommodating and the bed was very comfortable. The room was, of course, small, but plenty of room for one person (I had a single room). There are a number of very good restaurants all around the area, from Korean BBQ you cook on a grill to a great yakatori place and the best bakery ever (Vie de France, strangely enough) just a block away, next to the subway. We had delicious pasteries--both sweet and savory--from there every morning. There is also a grocery store just across the street. I highly recommend the Easton Hotel.
