Stayed here for 4 nights in may. The staff were very friendly and happy to assist with any questions we had. The room was small as are most in Tokyo but very clean and had all of the essentials. Great location, it's only a 5-10 minute walk from the JR station kamata.

Regarding the plus points of this hotel, it is very conveniently located near JR Kamata station and is a perfect transit for tourist attractions. The staff is very helpful and courteous and arranged for an English translator even if they did not understand English. The hotel is also reasonably priced and Wifi speed is decent.
Regarding the breakfast it was adequate but lacked variety and the hotel does not provide Lunch or dinner room service and you need to check out on the nearby restaurants. What was unexpected was the lack of locker facility and complimentary water which is common across hotels. But overall a decent hotel.

We stayed 2 weeks here, close to Kamata Station & very clean. Free breakfast from 5am - 10am. Free WiFi & free use of their washer/dryer. They have excellent customer service, front desk very helpful & they always greet you. The maid do an excellent job & they always greet you. We paid $120 daily. Room & bathroom is small, they only have wall hooks no dresser. We are hardly in the room so a small room was okay. The best benefits is their friendly staff, easy to communicate with. If you prefer a huge rooms you will pay starting $300 plus a night in Tokyo. Our friend that lives in Tokyo found this place, we usually stay at Grand Panex Hotel, but they always screw up our reservations & their staff is not friendly at all.

The hotel is not new, but is very clean and the staff are helpful. The breakfast is very simple, but is good. Less than 10 minutes walking from the Kamata Station, but if you wanna buy or eat something, you can easily find something very, very close from the hotel. Also, the access to the laundry is helpful for those who's making a long trip, but you have to use your own laundry soap.

We stayed in Urbain for 2 days while we explored Tokyo. While it wasn't inside main tourist district in Tokyo (like Shibuya, Shinjuku etc.), I have to say that the hotel was not a bad choice at all. It takes about 30-45 minutes (really just any kind of commute anywhere in big city) to get into town depending where you want to go, and it was only 5 minutes walk from Kamata JR. Most JR ride takes about 300yen max so the amount you save from hotels in Tokyo is totally worth it. It's really not that expensive for this hotel for the price you're paying

The hotel also has tons of izakaya for your late night munchies, so that's always great. Hotel staff speaks decent English so that's not a problem. JR Kamata has a supermarket downstairs as well, so we stock up loads of food for our late night munchies beside the yakitori that we ate.

Overall I'd say the commute is worth the $100 you save from staying in the expensive areas in Tokyo. There's really nothing I can complain about the hotel.

Room tip: Ask for a non-smoking room if you can
