“Fun Funky Area Near Station”
Reviewed 8 April 2014

This hotel featured clean, relatively large rooms for Tokyo but the breakfast was not worth the price. Everyone was nice but in our travels through Japan, the front desk people here were the least helpful.

Room Tip: Skip the overpriced breakfast.

The hotel itself is clean and efficient. The rooms are as rooms are in Japan, if there is more than one of you in the room - it can be challenging moving around.

Tiny bathrooms, as in the majority of hotels in any Japanese city - but good water pressure and the water is always hot. The amenities (toiletries) are fair - but could be far better. Be sure to have your own electrical adapter (if you need one). They do have them available - but they are for purchase, rather than lending them to you for your stay. Though these adapters are reasonably priced - they are not trying to make a quick buck off the guests.

The free wi-fi was very good, speedy and didn't drop out at any time (whilst I was using it). The reception staff do speak limited English, enough to get by - but they are very helpful and friendly - and if you try out your Japanese on them, they are a delight.

Don't bother with the breakfast (unless you really have to). All in all for what it was - it was super expensive, comparably. There are so many restaurants in the surrounding area (at a much lower cost) that you really do not need to worry about eating in the hotel. The breakfast offerings were not up to scratch. Supposedly more than thirty items (they must have been counting the ketchup, sauces and condiments!) - but at a push (and if you are uncertain or nervous about eating in local eateries where they do not speak English at all - then it could be a viable option (although there are lots of bakeries at the station where one can just point at items (or self serve).

The location of the hotel was very convenient - literally a few minutes walk from Kamata station. Very easy to find and accessible. The station has trains into the city every few minutes, so all in all very convenient indeed.

I would stay there again - and I am very picky.

Room Tip: They have two non-smoking floors, so make yourself clear on the booking if that is what you would li...
