• Tiny place in the middle of Shibuya (within a shopping centre)
• Long wait (1 hour is average waiting time)
• Good fish quality
• But Sushi pieces are too large, not very convenient to eat
• And yes it is good, but I do not think the long wait is justified, as the Sushi is as good as here in many other places in Tokyo
• Conclusion : good simple Sushi place, but overrated and not worth the long wait

If going with a small party, try to eat at the sushi bar. You can order as you eat. The wife and I went during on odd hour and waited 30 minutes. It's definitely worth the wait.

If you are not looking for a high class sushi restaurant, but you are looking for excellent freshness and quality so Umegaoka Sushi No Midori restaurant is the right place for you.
The restaurant is located in Mark City building (4th floor), few meters from Shibuya JR station. You should expect a long queue but luckily not too long waiting time (I waited for about 20 min).
Inside restaurant counter seats and tables are available; you can also find an English menu available many with photos to look through as you wait.
In the restaurant there are many chefs (I have seen 6) behind the bar; I was seated at the bar and my chef prepared sushi under my eyes.
Their sushi sets are absolutely excellent and tuna sushi (Maguro, Chutoro, Ootoro) is just divine. I ordered a sushi assortment set and then a 4 pieces tuna sushi: wonderful dinner.
Cost is AMAZINGLY cheap! Dinner, including bier, was only 3000 Yen ! That's about the cost of the buffet breakfast in any Japanese hotel.
I would definitely go back there when again in Tokyo.

Very fresh sushi is worth price. The Biggest sushi set is just about 3000 yen and give you superb of sushi such as anago otoro uni. But if you want to get in here you should wait more than an hour. I came in Monday evening around 1pm alone and have to waited about 1 hour. They have english menu but english menu only show for 2 pages sushi set and some kind of roll, the japanese menu have about 5-6 pages it was limited for non-japanese to order the other thing such as sashimi or single sushi.

First, how to find this place! It's in the Shibuya Mark City mall, 4th floor, on an outer corner just east of the connecting passageway to the west side. The floor plans do not list its name in Roman characters, but it's location #7 on the map. Look for 美登利, or see picture.

Second, the staff speaks almost no English. This is really not a problem. If you don't know the Japanese names of the popular fish types, you can point at pictures on the menu.

Third, there is always a line out front. You don't have to give them your name or ask for a number, just join the end of the line. A waiter will come out every few minutes and poll the line for party sizes. Just hold up fingers. The line moves very quickly. I joined the end of a line of 20 people, and the whole line cleared in about 10 minutes (but that may have been lucky). I was a single guy willing to sit at the bar, so I only had to wait for two minutes before being invited in.

Service is VERY fast. There is a sushi chef for every 2 meters of counter, and the waiters hustle.

For the food, see the other reviews. Not the best sushi I've ever had, but very good and high quality. I had a mixed platter, which you gajin may not want to risk as it contains some sushi that westerners may not appreciate, like sea urchin. It also came with miso soup and several "appetizers". The portions are indeed huge, even for expensive dishes like maguro. It's hard to find the rice under the huge slabs of fish. I like being able to serve my own ginger from a common stash.

There seems to be a take-out window as well, but I didn't investigate that.
