“Great views and connecting rooms”
Reviewed 21 April 2014 via mobile

We stayed here for 2 nights in April 2014 in 2 connecting rooms on the 24th floor. We arrived early but they kept our luggage for us. They do not have a porter service so when we checked in later that day we took up our own luggage. The doors that connect the rooms are heavy and require blocks to hold them open. Bathrom amenities were plenty and good quality. Beds are very comfortable if you like firm mattresses and air con works well. The fridge is a generous size and kept our many drinks cold. Wifi is free so you can stay in touch using the internet or apps like viber. The hotel shop stocked all the usual items, drinks, snacks, rice balls, and so on. They also offer the takuhaibin/takyuubin service if you want to have your luggage transported elsewhere for a fee.
Our room rate did not include breakfast so I can't comment on the food.
As for location it was a very short walk from Shinjuku station, close to many large department stores and my favourite Tokyu Hands. We also found a halal Turkish restaurant nearby. In the evening outside the station people would sing or entertain, some were very good and others plain weird!
Views were amazing from our rooms, I'm sure the higher floors must have even better views.
I would stay here again.

We just spent 5 nights at this hotel. I will just confirm all the previous reviews about this great hotel. The location was perfect, right on top of Shinjuku station. It was super convenient to explore the city from here. The views from the rooms were excellent, and all the rooms are above the lobby on floor 20 so there was minimal street noise. The rooms were very clean and had adequate space. The only downside was the bar was very pricey. We didn't eat at the hotel restaurants either because they seemed pricey. All in all this is a great hotel for the relatively reasonable cost.

Once again tripadvisor came through with a great hotel. It is still my go-to website for any travel plans. This hotel is situated on the top of a large office building - apparently not uncommon in Tokyo. Reception/lobby and restaurants are on the 19th floor and the hotel goes on up from there to the top of the building at 35 floors. The views are great of the city - higher the better. The East view is the best and most interesting but the West view is great and includes Mount Fuji if a clear day. It is basically above Shinjuku train station, the busiest in the world. It is ideal for hopping on subway trains to various parts of the city or trains to surrounding areas for day trips (Hakone is fantastic and easily done in a longish day). The room was large enough and very clean, well laid out and modern without being too stylish or over the top. Heated toilet seats with built in bidet if that is of interest. Included internet which is so nice as it just feels wrong when you have to pay for it at a nice hotel. The entrance to the hotel can be a bit hard to find but is marked and there are 3 dedicated hotel elevators that take you up to 19. You then have to walk across the building past reception to get to the four elevators that go up to the rooms. This is a bit of a pain but ok once you get used to it. The bed was very comfortable and linens high quality. Again, very clean, well maintained, everything worked, couldn't have been happier without spending thousands to stay at the Park Hyatt (which we visited for a meal and was fantastic with even better views - much better to save your money and visit the Hyatt for a great meal and view). I was surprised how affordable the Century Southern Tower is. They give significant discounts progressively for staying 2, 3 or 4+ nights. You need to remember that this is in a very urban setting. It is surrounded by large office buildings but the area around the station is full of restaurants, stores and night clubs. You are well above all teh noise and teh rooms are quite though. Finding food can be challenging so ask for advice from the hotel (the front desk staff were really great and usually spoke English well). The Sushi restaurant in the hotel was actually really good.
We stayed 4 nights and it was about right for us, including one day in Hakone, for a first visit to Tokyo en route elsewhere. There are several large parks/gardens within walking distance and all the Tokyo sights can be reached easily by subway from the station below you. Narita airport is a fair ways away but there is a train (NEX = Narita Express) that takes you directly to Shinjuku station (easiest option with luggage storage) or an even faster train plus subway option (Skyliner then JR line subway - no luggage storage on JR line). Have fun!
[My only complaint was the smoking cubby holes along the corridor to 3 of the restaurants (floor 20 I think). They are meant to be ventilated but don't work so one has to walk down a gauntlet of smoke to have dinner! (ok maybe I'm exaggerating as I tend to be sensitive but this really should be fixed as it really isn't appetizing!!]

Room Tip: Would suggest king room or larger (corner) with East view (toward central Tokyo). Higher floors are...

We have just left Tokyo after spending 4 nights at this hotel. It was absolutely fantastic - the room was lovely (not small in the least) and the view was great. This hotel is excellently located as you can use it as a base to go anywhere in Tokyo.
Directions - exit Shinjuku station at Southern Terrace exit. Turn left and then left again down a pedestrian precinct (with an excellent French Boulangerie on the right called Gertran or something). Anyway keep going, passed Starbucks on your left and the hotel is 20 meters or so further on on your right (opposite a shop called franc franc). To us the hotel was not immediately obvious which is why I'm putting these directions. We didn't eat at the hotel as the French bakery had the most delicious pastries. The hotel reception is on the 19th floor and the rooms are above these. We are staying in Tokyo again next week but unfortunately for us this hotel is booked up.
One last thing - check in is at 2pm and they will not budge on this if you are early!

Absolutely great location if you want to visit Shinjuku. Train station with Narita express is 5 minutes away. There is also a Starbuck in front of the hotel. Free wi-fi. Great view of the city.

However, front desk will not let anyone in before 14pm. They sit everyone in the hall and at 14pm they call everyone... when all the rooms are already ready.

Staff at the bar would not let us buy a bottle of water.

Front desk asked why we would want a bottle of water, we are thirsty?

On checkout, they told us both our credit card didn't work and they both did before and after leaving this hotel.

Our first time in Tokyo and we chose the hotel century southern tower, next door to shinjuku Jr station. A fantastic hotel, clean rooms of a good size with fantastic views of this amazing city. The hotel staff were fantastic throughout our week long stay, friendly, polite, respectful and helpful.... Nothing was too much for them.
Great western style buffet breakfast with amazing views of the city, and we were very lucky one day to see mount Fuji. The only negative I can think is the 2pm strict check in time, no ifs or buts, its 2pm...which can be a bit of a downer when the majority of flights from Europe arrive at narita in the morning.
A fantastic location to explore this mega-city by the fantastic rail system that Tokyo and Japan has..... Don't forget to buy a suica card on arrival at Tokyo.... Its a must have!
Would certainly recommend a stay at this hotel if visiting Tokyo.... We will hopefully be back next year and would stay here again....... And don't worry about the language barrier... A few polite phrases will get you buy... And you may even get someone come up to you and converse in English.....which we did!!!!!.
A great hotel in an amazing city.
