“This the amazing hotel to start your journey in Tokyo!”
Reviewed 18 January 2014

We chose this hotel because we impressed with the review in the Trips. After jumping one to another hotel for 5 night, we found the hotel were the place to dwell in Tokyo.

If you are new in Tokyo, this is the place to start.

The hotel is located only max 10 minute walk from the Shinjuku Station via South Exit, then cross the street, turn right, walk through then the first traffic-light turn left. Then for 200 m you will see the hotel in the right side.

We are family of 5, booked two rooms for 5 of us for 3 nights. We booked standard queen and standard twin for kids, And requested baby cot on standard queen, also another request to room side by side or close each other, they really could deliver. Even the Grand Hyatt chain perhaps cant have their passion to serve. The check in were smooth, the staff was polite, attentive, passionate and have proficiency in English. We requested the room with view, and they perfectly arrange us the rooms with view to the street with Christmas lighting at night.

Before we arrived, about a week and 2 days before we checked in, we asked several question and requested a favor, and they were so attentive to answer and assist us

The hotel located close to anywhere. Shopping area such as Takashimaya, Tokyu Hands, Kinokuniya were so closed. Starbucks are next door. The convenience store such as Family Mart and Lawson were minutes away. The Yoshinoya and shusi bar were only in the corner of the streets. The most important things, the CITIBank ATM was next door. The week that all ATM in Japan especially in 7Eleven could not accept a word wide network such as Maestro and Cirrus, had a Citibank's ATM next door was so helpful.

The room was spacious for us. The House keeping was so personal. They signed their card, signed and hand writing their name shown their love what they do. We impressed.

Since the hotel has no concierge, the front desk did everything such as find the taxi, allocate / reserve the restaurant and explain the direction, Special mention for Ms I.Ida who was so attentive and passionate to serve us with her self taught British accent.

Breakfast was good, The breakfast area was cozy and we found the foods were adequate.

We are so impressed and happy. And fully recommend this hotel to anybody, especially for the first comer to Tokyo. We will return.

Room Tip: Goods view are upper room with xx51, xx49, xx47, xx44, but avoid xx41 since your window will be no p...

Visited for more than ~10 times in past years.

Convenience transportation access. 10 min to Shinjuku JR station south entrance (Narita Express entrance).

The breakfast buffet is good, but finish too early @0940.
Some tourists may not want to wake up early during vacation. I stayed 7 days, the food offered is exactly same everyday, will reserve room only next time to have more flexibility and choices for breakfast.

The hotel is renovated in 2011. Room is clean & neat, unless the wall is getting dirt because no space for luggage, the luggage wheels must hit on the wall after repeated use.
Vendor machine in every floor.

Size of standard double room do not provide you a larger space compare to semidouble. The larger size in double room is actually compensated for the bed size (20cm larger in double room).
However, TV in double room is set at the corner along the bed head while semidouble room have the TV set at the bed end which is easier to watch.
Suggest semidouble, unless you have a big body build. Bed is comfortable.

Staff is helpful and service is always good.

Still highly recommended for this hotel.

Room Tip: Better move the TV to the corner near bed end for double room which is easier to watch. extend the...

This is my sixth trip to Tokyo and second stay at this hotel. It's the best hotel that I have stayed. The rooms are small but you don't visit Tokyo to stay in hotel room. Price and location is great. Great breakfast. Great Service. Will stay there next time I visit Tokyo.

We stayed in a standard double which had plenty of room compared to other hotels we'd looked at. Good powerful shower, nice and quiet, comfy bed. Nice modern hotel.

They had a handy coin operated laundry room in the basement and vending machines on each floor rather than a minibar.

The location was excellent, just around the corner from Shinjuki Station (with a direct line from Narita airport) with access to the metro for everywhere else.

I have been to Tokyo 5 times and my last 4 trips had always been in this hotel.

Although the room is quite small (very narrow walking space after we place our luggage), it is very conveniently located and accessible from Shinjuku station.

The rooms are very nicely maintained and clean. Internet access are very fast! And recently they have added in wireless access for guests in their rooms and in the lobby :)

BTW, there's 3 coin operated laundry machines at their Basement 1 level if you are intending to stay in Shinjuku for a number of days.

It also helps a lot as the staff in the hotel are very well versed in English so we really have no problems seeking any assistance from them.

Their staff are very helpful, be it through email up till the reception table.

Last but not least, the hotel is part of the bus-stop for the Airport Limousine service to Narita and Haneda airport so you can just board the bus from there or take the bus to there.

Highly recommended to anyone who is going to Tokyo for the 1st time or revisiting :)

Room Tip: If you can get the room of your choice (smoking or non-smoking), you can email them before hand firs...

Single rooms are small, but very comfortable with great amenities: not only toothbrush, razor and hairbrush but a kimono-style nightshirt that's changed for a fresh one every day. Fast free wifi in rooms and public areas a real bonus.

Only problem: just one small bath towel provided. Otherwise excellent, and will certainly stay here again.
