We stayed three nights (one night on arrival, two nights after back from Tateyama) in this hotel in May, 2014. I sent email to the hotel informing that we will have late check in on our arrival date, their quick response to our email is much appreciated. As I spent my birthday during my stay in Japan, they gave me a small gifts with greeting card (two packs of chocolates) in the first night.

For the room, it is clean and spacious than expected. The front desk staff with fluent in English and is very helpful.

For the breakfast, it offers Japanese and Western styles. Even not many choices but enough. It includes boiled eggs, hams, photos chips, salmon fish (Japanese style) rice, miso soup, salad, 4 choices of juices, coffee or tea, bread, croissants, etc.

For the location, it locates in Kabukicho( 歌舞伎町), just opposite to the City Government Office. Many 24-hours restaurants nearby. One convenience store (Lawson) situates at the 1st floor of the hotel. Only 15 minutes walk from the hotel to Shinjuku Station West Exit.

For the price, it is reasonable as compared with other similar hotels in Shinjuku area.

We stayed here for 5 nights in April and couldn't have been happier with the location. It was right in with the main streets of Shinjuku making it our favourite place to explore each night as we could walk around easily and make our way back yet we couldn't hear any street noise from our room. It was also a short walk from Shinjuku station making it very easy to get around Tokyo. The hotel intself was lovely and clean with very helpful staff that spoke English well enough to assist english speaking travellers like us. The room was a little small but we expected that in Japan and we still managed to find room for our two suitcases to sit open. We had everything we needed for a trip where we weren't going to spend too much time in the room including a nice clean bathroom. We used the laundry as well which was easy to use. We also decided to have the buffet breakfast one morning which was quite nice (buffets are not normally my favourite style but this one was quite good.) I will definitley be staying here again when I return to Japan.

We spent 4 nights at the Best Western and were immensely impressed. Whilst facilities were minimal, rooms are ample sized, value was frankly amazing, staff excellent at every turn (restaurant recommendations were top notch every time but one!) and location perfect. We were lucky to be upgraded to a dlx room so not sure how much smaller the original superior rooms would have been

This is a surprisingly nice hotel for what is kind of a scuzzy area of town. The breakfast buffet is pretty decent and the staff is nice, with OK English ability. The rooms are pretty small, but that's to be expected for Japan and the price point.

Our family has traveled all over Asia and have experienced a vast array of accommodations. For the price, I was expecting a very small room and average service....I was totally wrong! Our room was on the top floor (14th I think) and it was extremely spacious with 2 queen beds and a large bath. The view was wonderful! The desk personnel were very friendly and helpful when we asked for tourist information. They all spoke excellent English! We had breakfast each morning (4 days stay) and it plentiful with a wide variety of cuisines. The breakfast area is small but it seemed to accomodate everyone just fine. For us, the location of the hotel couldn't have been more perfect. It's just a few steps away from the subway station entrance. I have to admit that I never exited the station and ended up at the right place (by our hotel) during our stay...just confusion for the 1st time Tokyo travelor.

There are lots of restaurants and things to see within walking distance. In fact, one of Tokyo's cool areas is just behind the hotel. There are hundreds of tiny bars that hold 6-12 people all along a walking path. Don't worry though, it seemed to be a place where foreigners pop in and experience a small pub atmosphere for a little while and then try another small 'pub'. Our son was with us so we didn't experience the nightlife but it certainly seemed like a place to visit!

Don't hesitate to stay here, it was by far one of the largest and nicest rooms we've stayed at in Asia. Conveient, clean and spacious with outstanding service! We would definately return to the BW Astina.

Room Tip: I asked for a room on a high floor; didn't pay extra for our great view!

We stayed in this hotel for three nights.
The hotel is in a central location close to Shinjuku station.
From the station, once managed to get out on the right side, you can walk (10 min) or take a taxi with a cheap minimun fare (730 JPY).
The lobby is upstair from the road and an elevator is available.
The dimensions of the room were a bit small as usual in Japan; the width of the bed was a little smaller than we are accustomed and with one side along to the wall
resulting a bit uncomfortable due the possibility of beating against the wall.
The window looked at Golden Gai but no noise was heard coming from outside.
The bathroom was well equipped with the super-technology wc.
Both the room and bathroom were well cleaned during all the stay.
The breakfast was quite good with a plentiful buffet although most Asian food.
The staff was always very friendly and helpful with a good level of English to understand and assisted us for a reservation.
The proximity to the station allows this hotel a good starting base for traveling around the city or the country.
Overall a good hotel that I would recommend.

Went to Japan for the first time and stayed in this hotel for 6 nights. Reception was located on the 3rd floor, staff were extremely helpful and could speak excellent English. Ours was a standard twin room on the 5th floor. Bed was comfortable and bathroom was well equipped, free WiFi was available, there were vending machines on each floor for laundry (coin operated). Location was perfect, only 5-6 minutes’ walk from Shinjuku station. Take the east exit at Shinjuku train station and walk down through the stairs, look for Subnade shopping mall entrance and take exit 15 to go up the stairs, once out, you will see a Mister Donut on the corner, turn left and after a little walk you will be in front of the hotel. Since the location is Shinjuku it is easy to reach any attraction from there e.g. Asakusa, Disney Land, Odaiba, Harajuku, Shibuya and even Hakone. Another good thing about the hotel is that the breakfast was included in the rate, not many hotels in Tokyo would offer free breakfast. They also give you coupons so if you miss the breakfast, you can use the vouchers at the departmental store downstairs (store name is ‘‘Lawsons’’ and is 24/7).

I would recommend you to check the hotel website for seasonal deals, we booked 45 days in advance and saved 40% which was really good. Over all, we loved the hotel and will definitely come back the next time we visit Tokyo.
