We travelled to Tokyo with the big family of 5 people including our 3 year old son for two weeks vacation. Considering number of people and duration we chose apartments, but still wanted to have some service and support, since this was our first time to Japan. Hundred stay provides apartments with concierge service which was good. The two bedroom apartment on 21st floor was spacious (~90 sq m) compared to other options we looked in Internet. Apartment had two bedrooms, two bathrooms, dining room with small kitchen area, washing machine, dryer, fridge, oven, microwave. There was no dishwasher unfortunately. They cleaned the apartment twice a week, which seemed to be not enough, since apartment got very dusty very quickly. Also the interior was very dark, which made it depressing. Our son did not feel himself comfortable in this apartment, I guess because windows were located higher than he could reach,so for him it was very strange feeling to see only walls. And location of apartments - it says 15 minutes walk from Shinjuku station, but it felt much further, maybe we walked slower than average Japanese... I would strongly recommend choosing a hotel closer to major attractions for tourists, since it took a while to get somewhere we wanted.

We rented an apartment on the 15th floor for our first week in Japan. It was conveniently situated, even though it's actually a good 20 mins walk from Shinjuku proper - the 'Skyscraper District'. The nearest subway station is Okubo, which is 5 or 10 mins away and is on the JR line, and then 5 or 10 mins further along the same road is Shin-Okubo (shin = east in Japanese) which is on the JR Yamanote line.
There was also a 24 hr Tesco (!) almost next to the hotel, which we made good use of as we had cooking facilities in our apartment. When food shopping, we found that the fresh fruit in Japan is quite expensive, but usually very good; western cereals can be found, but were again understandably expensive; there's semi-skimmed milk and the bread comes sliced and plastic wrapped... butter was harder to find - don't look for a 250g block, it'll be packaged in a small flat plastic unit.
The apartment had a large double bedroom with clothes-hanging area and washing-machine off, where there was also a safe. Then the living area had a sofa/bed and telly and Bose audio, low table and also a dining table for 2, and of course the kitchen area which had a couple of cooking rings, a microwave and fridge/freezer. Each room had independently controlled air-con, and both rooms had a great view across the city towards Shinjuku. There was also of course a bathroom, which was clean and bright.
We chose an apartment so that our son, who is living there in Tokyo, could come over and stay. All three of us were supplied with a card key which gave us 24hr access to the hotel. Beware - we thought we'd lost one of our key cards and were advised that we would be charged 30 yen! That was motivation enough for my wife to search her handbag again... As seems usual in Japan, there was no wifi in the room; you have to nip down to the ground floor with your laptop or iPad and enter the daily code, which worked out fine. The staff at the front desk were always helpful and spoke very good English.

I stayed in this hotel for a total of 5 days in May.

+ rooms are very spacious for a Japanese hotel in Tokyo
+ amenities are modern and convenient
+ location is convenient with two stations within 5-10 minute walking distance and convenience stores

- carpets are spotted and appear dirty from wear
- appears that majority of rooms are booked in bulk by tourist groups

Was sceptical at first when we booked the hotel since it neither in Shinjuku nor Shibuya area. Upon arrival, we were surprised as the place is very modern and clean. The rooms we booked are spacious and clean. The nearest JR Line, Okubo Station, is just around the bend and there are a lot of convenience shops around the hotel. Some are even opened 24hrs. As a muslim traveller, the hotel is near to some halal restuarants and convenience shops.

With regards to the hotel staffs, they are able to speak English rather well. They were helpful in helping us with directions to various tourist locations in Tokyo and also Mount Fuji. They assisted to help us with the train fare costing. Special mention to Mr Isao Goto, the front clerk of the hotel. He helped us a lot with our many enquiries about tokyo and also act as translator.
(Thank you)

Overall, I am satisfied with the service and recommend those with families to consider this hotel.

Stayed at Hundred Stay recently and had a great time. Hotel was very clean and quite large for Japanese standards. Beds were comfortable and bathroom was nice and big. Staff quite friendly and the breakfast is basic but does the job. Quieter part of Shinjuku (about a 10 min walk) or very close to Obuku station.

Would recommend to many people wanting a low cost stay in a great place.

Room Tip: Try and upgrade if possible
