This hotel is located closest to Shinjuku Gyomae metro, with a bunch of restaurants nearby. It is about a 15 minute walk to Shinjuku main station.

We found the rooms were large and the location was fine. There was also coin laundry in the building which was nice.

The room itself had a couple issues - we ended up in a room with the tiniest window so it was super dark. The beds and pillows were very low and soft so not super comfortable.

Overall, it worked out fine for our stay in Tokyo.

Very nice hotel in the Shinjuku area. Well priced, good value and definitely recommended if you want to be near the bustle and energy of the Shinjuku area. Look forward to staying there again for either business or leisure.

This was our first time in Tokyo and couldn’t select a more perfect hotel for our first visit. The staff was amazing. They helped us with so much information that we were able to get around the city by metro. Location is great since there are a lot of places to eat and near the metro. The only downfall is that there is prostitution in the area but don’t let that discourage your stay here.

Stayed at the Citadines Shinjuku, Tokyo recently. The hotel is ideally located with shopping area, subway, bus station and restaurants within walking distance. The Shinjuku Garden Park is also a few minutes walk always and is a beautiful park that is so tranquil and peaceful. Admission is only 200 yen for adults.

The Hotel itself is nice although their smallest room, a studio, which is what 2 of us occupied, is quite small but is completely furnished. The staff is also very friendly although their English is very limited.

The Citadines Shinjuku makes a great base for exploring Tokyo. My wife and I stayed here for 4 nights in early June, ‘18, and we recommend it strongly. The location is very good – just on the border between the Shinjuku entertainment district and shopping and business districts. It is about a 15 minute walk from the east exit from Shinjuku Station, where there are trains and metro lines to nearly anywhere you want to go in Tokyo, as well as the express train to Narita. The walk is probably do-able with a modest amount of luggage, but we had our luggage forwarded to the hotel from our previous location and didn’t have to contend with it on arrival, and when we departed for Narita it was raining so we took a taxi to the station. Unless you are traveling very light and/or are very adventurous, we recommend taking a taxi.

The hotel is an attractive modern building entered through a small courtyard shared with a Lawson’s convenience store – very handy for drinks and snacks. The lobby is on the third floor, not an unusual arrangement for Japanese city hotels, and is a pleasant high-ceiling space with a restaurant off to one side. The desk staff were friendly and helpful.

Our room (1204) was good-sized with a small divan and a view over Shinjuku. The decor was attractive and modern in grey & beige. There was a comfortable queen bed, desk, open closet, coffee/tea maker, and a small refrigerator. Wifi was ok, but sometimes dropped the signal. The bathroom was large and stylish with two-tone grey ceramic tiles floor to ceiling. It had a tub/shower combo (Japanese style, with both in a single enclosure but separated), fair counter space, and the usual Japanese starship captain’s chair toilet.

Breakfast buffet was served in the bright and pleasant restaurant off the lobby, along one wall overlooking the street. There was a good selection of western and Japanese dishes, though light on fresh fruit, and everything tasted very good.

In summary, we found the Citadines to be an excellent choice for visiting Tokyo in terms of location and quality of facilities and service. We don’t hesitate to recommend it and would return here again ourselves.
