This was one of the only hotels I found that could accommodate a family of 3 by adding an extra bed. The room was big and the check-in and out was quick. There are restaurants and the JR station in walking distance, but it's not right next to the JR station. We enjoyed our stay here.

The Hyatt Regency is a good hotel. It's well located, it has big rooms and it's modern and comfortable. The service is also incredibly helpful. All the staff speaks English and we even met a very nice and attentive guy, Julian, who speaks Spanish, so he can help those who aren't fluent in English. Nevertheless, there were some details that were shocking for us and unexpected in Hyatt standards. First of them, not having a single point of free-wifi. Ok, deal. We know it's quite common in Japan. But the big surprise came out when we tried to print our boarding passes for our trip back. First shock: you had to pay for every printed page (quite weird in a hotel of this kind) and even worse… the business center was a joke. Three old computers. Two of them didn't even start. We were lucky with the third. But not that much… the Internet speed was something like snail speed and after spending half an hour to get into our reservation in the JAL page, we decided to stop the process because we thought we could spend the entire day there. I'm sorry, but this is not what you expect in a Hyatt. Fortunately, all the rest was fine, and thanks especially to the staff, amazingly helpful.

Stayed here for 6 nights from July 16-22. Service was excellent, and super clean. We stayed in the King Standard room which was quite roomy for a Tokyo hotel. Paid Wifi was reasonable, 300 Yen for a 24 hr connection. Good quality toiletries used in the hotel. 711 just below the hotel which is perfect if you want to grab some snacks late at night or in the morning before going somewhere. Or even if you want to grab soba in the middle of the night, you can run to Shinjuku Station which takes about 10-15 minutes by walking which was amazing! There is a direct subway station just below the hotel which was convenient as well. Overall our stay at the hotel was good until we left the hotel. And we left an electronic toothbrush in the washroom, when we contacted them through email a couple times they told us there was nothing. So it went missing by itself? Doesn't really make sense. Quite a disappointment after a satisfying and enjoyable stay at the hotel.

Room Tip: Rooms with better view is available with reasonable additional cost.

Hyatt gold passport members have free access to the pool.......but but but. You are not allowed in the pool area unless you pay for and hire a par of swimmers.Yep....even if you only want to watch and ensure the safety of your child.....you must wear swimmers......or you are not allowed to use the pool. You can see that this pool issue has clouded my overall stay rating!

Japanese law must be very different to the laws in China, Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, and Malaysia....not to mention Australia, New Zealand ,and USA.You cannot watch or supervise your child in the pool area unless you are in a par of swimmers.

This law really ruined some of the great things at this Hotel. No access to the pool area unless you wear swimmers. Manny mums and dads simply do not want to swim or even change into swimmers!

Small room. An advertised Five star hotel has such small rooms that room service trolleys cannot get past the bed and desk/chair.Really really tiny/ small corridor access to small room.

Small room. The bed of my room had one side up against the wall. I could only enter/exit the bed from one side. I have never experienced this or seen or heard of a five star experience having such a small room.

Had sneak looks into other rooms on the floor...........Don't stay in 08 rooms. These rooms seem 40 percent smaller than rest of rooms on the twelfth floor.

I booked thru a travel agent.Flight Centre are very very professional.

Simply could not get a late check out till the day I checked in. Reservations refused to confirm a late check out till I checked in. Was happy to pay and prepay just for certainty of having room till 1600...as was traveling with son.

I did not request that my rooms linen were not changed. A nice little note on my bed thanking me for saving the environment. The bottom line of hotels are really fragile.....but if you not going to change my linens every day in a advertised five star hotel.....and then thank me for a request never made...........don't tell me about it......I do understand energy costs in Japan.

Lift carpet. This really needs to be refurbished. Amazing views from lifts until you look at old worn carpet .

Internet/ iPad access issue. Had a problem with access.....but one of team fixed problem.I am wondering if I have paid the hotel and telstra in a double dip?

English speaking........this is one of the best English speaking teams. The language and listening ability is outstanding. And they refuse a tip.A great great great English speaking hotel.

Wonderfull staff.....the staff .The staff in reception and concierge and restaurant and room service are stunning.

Food quality......Very very very good. And they really cater for a 8 nite stay with good international menus. This hotel really does a great breakfast.

Special mention to amazing room service food quality.

Laundry service excellent. Great pressing and finish on all clothing.

Wonderfully clean hotel room.Stunningly clean restaurants and public areas.

Location. Stunning amazing location.Simply amazing location.AMAZING Location.

Wonderfull free shuttle bus to train station and main shopping area.

Starbucks and seven eleven under/close to Hotel. For any families a Sizzler in across the road as well.

Well appointed room with really nice view. Good solid room.....except size!

Food and beverage pricing was expensive.......but quality and service in food/beverage outstanding.Great variety of dining in hotel and many restaurants in easy walking distance.

Would I stay here again? Not with family....but maybe.

This is an older style hotel that has had a lot of money refurbishing over last 5 years.

A huge lobby. Hilton is next door.First impressions are of a huge big ,dark, grey building.Dont worry about rather drab and sparten front entrance.

Plenty of taxis. Great park opposite.

The staff are simply stunning. Absolutely Wonderfull. And amazing English. The management should be really proud of the hotel team.

Room Tip: Rooms with number 08.....stay away from rooms with 08. Rooms that are on the end of the hotel and at...

If you want to explore Tokyo from the new business area, this is an amazing option. Hotel offers good sized rooms (considering this is a japanese unit), with great bathroom and good service. There's a subway station right behind the hotel, and the airport bus stops at the the hotel door.

We chose the Hyatt for its location and the reasonable price and the fact that the Airport Limousine takes you to the hotel so there is no hassle getting to and from the airport with luggage as catching the train there was not an option given Shinjuku is probably the busiest station in the world. I was happy with the hotel's shuttle bus to Shinjuku station as while it is not far to it, the heat and humidity of Summer makes it seem a lot further than what it seems. There is a subway station (Tochomae) almost directly under the hotel.

Reception was very efficient and English was no problem. The rooms were big enough and the beds were reasonably comfortable given the typical hardness of beds in Japan. The bathroom was spotless and big enough not to be cramped. The shower was hot and strong.

My only problem with the room was the lack of power points especially next to the bed(s). We had to pull out the bedside furniture to get a power point from under the carpet which meant we had no clock. People who need a CPAP might find this a bit annoying. Also, for some reason, when using the HDMI connection, the TV volume was limited to 25 and I had to sit right next to the TV to listen to it. There is a non nominal charge to use the swimming pool which disappointed me considering the room rate. Using any of the facilities at the hotel was significantly overpriced such as $11 for a coffee so we went outside the hotel for almost everything. The 7-11 under the hotel has everything you could need including cheap sushi, beer and custard buns and you can get money out using their ATM systems which is not all that easy in Japan. There are a number of eateries in the same area so we tried them a number of times.

While at the hotel, we had a tremor at 4:23 AM and it woke me up. The hotel is obviously designed for such things but it is a bit odd listening to the the hotel creaking and settling for about three minutes after the tremor had stopped.

Would I stay there again? Probably not as Tokyo is so big that there are lots of other places to experience. Overall I was satisfied with the experience.

The Hyatt has good sized room, clean and received free Wi-Fi as Hyatt members. We had a nice room and was there for 4 nights. Did not know we were facing Mt Fuji until the 4th day. On that day we had a nice view for about two hours in the morning.
Hotel is in a business area and there are not a lot of restaurants or shopping in the immediate vicinity. Nothing like being in the heart of Shinjuku or Shibuya where every store front is either a shop or restaurant/bar. But it was convenient for us as there was a restaurant we wanted to go to down the street, the Hyatt is next door to Tokyo Metropolitan Gov building and the observation deck, and the entrance to one subway line is right under the entrance to the hotel.
We were able to go to the Tsukiji Fish Market without changing trains. Everywhere else we went we got there with only changing trains once. When you are coming back from being out and about in the August heat it is nice that you have a short walk to the hotel when you get off the train. If you take the Hyatt bus to Shinjuku station you should be able to get anywhere in the city on two trains.
Hyatt bus to and from Shinjuku station every 20 minutes. Bus leaves every 20 minutes on the dot so it is easy to time when you come down from the room. Did not think much about this when I reserved the room. I anticipated using the subway to get to the hotel but we used this service every day, sometimes twice. We used it to get to the Shinjuku station or to get to that part of the city before we started to walk around.
Breakfast at the hotel was very good. If you are a registered guest you are able to purchase a coupon for breakfast that makes it a pretty good deal for an nice buffet.
As another reviewer mentioned there is a 7-11 just below the hotel. It is very convenient for getting a drink or snack. Does not sound like much but you will be surprised how often you will stop in for something quick when it is that convenient.
