Owner description: The tallest building in Shinjuku, TMG No. 1 offers sweeping views of Tokyo--all the way to Mt. Fuji on a clear day--from the 45th floor observatory.

Forget about all the other lookouts including Tokyo Tower, the TMG is the best and its free! Awesome view right across Tokyo and even Mt Fuji on a clear day. The shops are a little tired and I think they are about to be renovated.

Thank TokyoGeoff

What is not to love about this place? It's free and it's around the corner from the Park Hyatt New York Bar (as made famous in Lost in Translation) which costs Y2200 per person to get in, nevermind having a drink too. We went and watched the sun go down near Mount Fuji and hung around to watch Tokyo light up.

Free access to viewing deck on both towers with great views of Tokyo. Theres a bar up there too, but it is expensive.

We went here by walking from our hotel at Shinjuku Prince Hotel and though we spent around an hour walking around and get lost occasionally, we are not disappointed at all.

It was just after dinner so we decided to visit this place whom I read on the internet earlier. The government buildings are huge and you must carefully look for the entrance to the top floors. Once you are upstairs, you can basically see the Tokyo's glamouring skyline. There are also several shops selling food and unique souvenirs. I bought a small umbrella there.

On the ground floor, or maybe 1st, there is a tourist information centre that has many brochures and displays to assist the travels in Tokyo. English speaking staff are also on hand to assist with inquiries.
