We stayed at this hotel for one week, lots of restaurants surrounding the hotel. Located above 2 metro lines, very convenient as a base. a bit walk from the main shinjuku station (15-20 minutes normal walk). the room is very clean, free ice, not much waiting on elevator, housekeeping were excellent.
Definitely will stay here again.

We had just arrived in Japan and needed a place to call home. We easily took the train to Hotel Sunroute and had a great 4 days there. It was extremely well located walking distance from two great neighborhoods (Shinjuku and Shibuya) and we slept well every night. The room was small but it was standard for Tokyo. We were RIGHT outside of the subway and right across the street from a Tully coffee where we went every morning for a cup of joe and croissant. We were near hundreds of great restaurants, bars and sights. We were sad to leave when it was time. Great hotel, great start to our trip in Japan! The hotel staff didn't' speak amazing English and it's not particularly fancy but it's everything you want for a great price. We got the room for half off through a website call Vayama and it came out to about $90/night. Can't ask for a better deal than that. They also leave a nice two nightgowns for you and your partner and we thought that was pretty funny/cool.

This hotel was is right beside a subway (Higashi Shinjuku). This is quite helpful in the raining season lol.

The hotel is located in Shinjuku area, but it is a bit of a walk to Kabukicho and shinjuku station. About 15 minutes.

There is a restaurant in the hotel that gives you a great deal on a buffet breakfast: western and Japanese. The pancakes were pretty good.

The hotel is a business hotel. It is quite clean. The rooms are quite small but as I said it is a business hotel and in Tokyo there is a paucity of space so rooms are small. There is free wifi and it is quite powerful. There are computers - laptops- in the lobby with free printing. They are a bit slow but they do the job.

The bed is comfortable and the blackout windows work.

There are quite a few restaurants around this hotel as is the case in much of Tokyo.

The hotel was quite cheap. I happened to get a nice deal at the time of booking so that was nice.
I would recommend this hotel.

Stayed at the hotel for 5 days 4 nights from a friend's recommendation. We arrived at Japan near midnight and was glad that the hotel's location was so convenient (3 mins drive from central Shinjuku) to travel to. The hotel is located at the east side of Shinjuku, the Kabukicho (red light district) area, but the place is safe at night so no worries there. The rooms, though small (but from what I know, most hotel rooms in Tokyo are that small), are clean and in good condition. The staff there were friendly and attentive to our requests - helping us with getting around Tokyo and recommending us a number of good and affordable restaurants to dine at. Overall, Hotel Sunroute Higashi left me with a great impression as a hotel that has good service, clean rooms and great location, all at a reasonable price!

Firstly let me just say this hotel is precisely ten steps from Higashi-Shinjuku Station. After walking non stop all day, we felt relief as soon as we walk out of the station.
Rooms are little larger than some of the hotel rooms in Kyoto. Across the street, you will find seven eleven and few eateries. We liked pepper lunch.
At night we walked to kabukicho for fun. Hotel is about 6 to 10 min walk, depending on how fast you walk.

I loved our stay at this hotel.

The rooms are very neat, tidy and not as small as you would expect in Japan. I found the rooms very comfy and the bathrooms well equipped.

The best thing about this hotel is its location in the heart of Shinjuku; the metro station is literally two steps away from the hotel's main door. Excellent place to stay in the heart of Tokyo!

I would definitely recommend it.

Booked this hotel during my late July 14 trip to Tokyo and stayed for 5 nights.

Receptionists were pleasant and very helpful. Check-in was without fuss. Quick and easy. Being a member (on the spot sign up) allows one to extend for late check out till 1 pm which is very good.

When I asked for train departure time for Haneda airport and requested for a print out of the schedule, all was done with a smile and she helped circled all the timings applicable (they were all in Japanese). WONDERFUL!!!

Room was promptly cleaned daily (Up to 3pm only) and room was very clean from day of check in. On the level I stayed (presumably for all) there was a vending machine for drinks and ice was provided as well. The good touch was that there was also cups for you to put the ice. Shower amenities were adequately provided. As I booked for one person, there was strictly only one towel for bath, face and hand. Would have been good if there are two bath towels as sometimes, twice a day shower got to use back the towel that is a little damp still.

The room actually is not too small, comparing with some other Japanese hotels I have been to. Having said that, you cannot open your luggage wide in the room. For me, one person, it was still all right. If there are two persons, it will be quite a squeeze - only when luggage is open. Else, it will be considered as acceptable by Japanese room size standards.

Bed to some degree was a little hard and the pillow seemed "split" in the middle making it a little uncomfortable for me....otherwise, would have rated it excellent.

Location is very near the Shinjuku station and some eateries and shopping area. Location is tops.
And, there was free wifi in the room and lobby - very good and fast.

Will recommend it for other travellers.

Room Tip: Just request from the receptionist for your needs. They should accede if available.
