Don't be put off by first impressions at Sabai Thailand, which is housed in a little warren of rooms crammed with utilitarian tables and chairs. The menu looks well used - but it features dishes in the 680-780 yen range. The food is freshly cooked (the cook went back and forth through the restaurant to the kitchen with vegetables and bags of groceries). Every dish we had looked better than the pictures in the menu, and was delicious. We had lettuce cups, roasted eggplant salad (yam makuea yao), chicken galangal soup (tom kha kai), stir-fried morning glory (pak bung fai daeng), followed by tapioca and coconut ice cream. The restaurant is open from 5 p.m. to 3 a.m., with last orders at 2:00 a.m. It's just a few minutes away from Koenji Station.
