Owner description: Tokyo's tallest building
Reviewed 30 May 2014

This is a 60 story building in Tokyo. It has four large floors of upscale shopping and sites inside. There are about two floors of food courts with a variety of different restaurants. At lunch time, there is at least a 20 minute wait for most of the restaurants. At the top of the building, there is an observation deck where you can see Tokyo from each side of the building. You will see the city and activity stretching out as far as you can see on all four sides of the building. There is also an aquarium on the top floor as well. The middle floors of the building are reserved for businesses. This is one of the tallest buildings in Tokyo.

You could probably spend a few hours at this mall shopping, eating, at the aquarium or planetarium. It also has the small Ancient Oriental Museum and the newly renovated Namjatown.
If your lucky there might be a food fair or a sale on at the convention halls adjacent in the adjacent building. The view of the town from the Observatory is also nice.

From the basement you can walk to Higashi Ikebukuro station on the Yurakucho Line without getting wet.

Japan is bustling with places to eat and shop - Sunshine 60 is one of them! Within Sunshine City, there's something for everyone...for kids there's Namjatown where kids can have all you can eat ice cream (among others) and J-world where they can explore some of their anime heroes. There's also a play area, acquarium, and a Toys R Us. For adults, there's plenty of shopping - Uniqlo has a branch here as well many small, independent retailers. Dining choices range from the low end like McDonalds to middle of the road curry/coffee shop/Japanese restaurants to more exclusive restaurants on the upper floors. I spent two days exploring this complex!

Located with Prince Hotel, it is a quick connected step from Hotel to the mall. It has all the usual shops and plenty of restaurants. You can easily spend a few hours in here. Once you work out where you are you can travel from the hotel through the mall down towards to Ikebukuro station and the shopping streets. Also has number of entertainment facilities.

My favorite part of my trip in Tokyo was my stop at Ikebukuro. One of the reason, is the Sunshine 60 building. My sister and I had a lot of fun there. After spending a lot of time in the shop ( of course, it's a mall after all ), we visited the rest of the place. On the top floor, there is a observation deck ($); it's beautiful if you haven't got the chance to go anywhere else. Otherwise, pass it. There is also a big Aquarium and a Planetarium. I enjoyed both a lot.
There is also Namco Namja Town, which was just okay. Inside Namco Namja Town, there is Ice Cream Town. That place is awesome. A lot of different flavor and weird ice cream flavor. Sunshine 60 is not too far from the Ikebukuro station, less than 10 mins walking. The neighborhood is beautiful and friendly.
